I'll add some stats to this thread.

In the last half of the season GB has played 5 of eight games against winning teams. Our defense has allowed 78.8 total LESS points then these teams average or right at -9.8 points per game.

Philly (thowing out the last game since Vick didn't play and Dallas started a QB I never heard of before) gave up 41.5 MORE points then their opponents average or right at +6 points a game. Furthermore the only team out of those seven games that had a winning record was NY (twice) who we happened to kick the crap out of.

I am looking for GB to score 35 points in this game which would fall right in line with what Philly has been giving up against their opponents (we average 24+ and the Eagles have been allowing a +10 to the other team).

We have given up over 30 one time and that was NE when they added a pick 6 and ST's fluke to the 4 yd line.

I like our chances.

By the way, these numbers should scare the living crap out of other teams:

TEAM Average Pts Pts Allowed

Dallas 24.6 --- 7
Vikes 17.6 --- 3
Falcons 25.9--- 20
49'rs 19.1--- 16
Lions 22.6--- 7
Pat's 32.4--- 31
Giants 24.6--- 17
Bears 20.9--- 3

PHILLY

Wash 18.6--- 28
Giants 24.6 --- 17
Bears 20.9 --- 31
Houston 24.4 --- 24
Cowboys 24.6--- 27
Giants 24.6 --- 31
Vikes 17.6--- 24

I remember scoffing last year at Mike McCarthy's stated intention of making this a defense-oriented team, because there were times that at key moments, he seemed not to have faith in his defense and would put it unnecessarily in the hands of the offense. This year, I can only applaud him for what he's done. This is unquestionably a defense-oriented team, as he said he wanted. What's all the more amazing about it is he's managed to lead a team that's not only potent on defense, but also one of the most prolific offenses in the league.

If only this team could figure out a way to win the close ones, they would steamroll through this league.

I think the speed-bump is an inability to manufacture consistency on offense. We have a tough time grinding yardage and clock-time.

With better clock management skills, we could have won 4 more games that were lost due to come from behind wins.

On the road we lost to
Bears, Redskins, Falcons, Lions, Patriots

The 1 and 2 seed in NFC and the 1 seed in the AFC.

Redskins, Crosby should have had that one for us with :07 to go (who can't make a 53 yarder?)

Lions, they knocked out our QB, which I strongly feel made the difference.

We do have a poor road record, but it was against some pretty good teams and we held our own. Let's see if we learned anything.

It was obvious that 3 of the 5 road teams we lost to were 1 or 2 seeds in the playoffs? I must be silly because it wasn't obvious for me.

No I'm sorry that wasn't directed towards you at all...captain obvious was me poking fun at myself for mentioning that the packers beat philly on the road.

Key stat: The Packers have scored more points than their opponent 10 times this season. The Packers won all 10 of those games.
