It felt like we totally outplayed them for the most part, but didn't stick the dagger in them when we had the chance. The Jones drop would have been that dagger IMO. The guy has talent, but I wonder if he is not our Roy Williams, a guy who seems to have all the tools, but whose mind takes a break at inexcusable times.

Ah, now there's a good comparison. Or Braylon Edwards.

I agree that the Packers outplayed them, at least in the first half, but missed some opportunities to put them into desperation mode.

The difference is that those guys were their respective team's top options. We have Driver, Jennings, and Finley as options before you even mention James Jones.

Besides, I'd take James Jones over Robert Ferguson any day.

That's a poor mans comparison.
Jones is not a big time reciever.
I say let him walk.

Jennings dropped practically that same ball a week ago. Shit happens.

Jennings has a big pretty smile. Jones, doesn't flash his nearly as often. That's the difference. (and maybe that Jennings has 12 TD's in the regular season, lol)

Jennings has dropped two big time balls late in the season.. Detroit and last week. Both Jennings and Jones have to cut that from their games.. those game changing or chain moving drops.

I watch quite a few NFL games and we're not the only team that drops passes and Jones isn't the only one who drops passes on our roster. But Jones seems to drop the ones that look so routine and would be an easy touchdown therefore he gets blasted the hardest.

Yes, I've defended Jones all season on the same grounds, but this one may have finally pushed me over the edge. He's going into a contract year. I wonder how much money that drop will cost him?

I completely understand that every team's fan base thinks that only their coach makes bad play calls, or only their team sucks at tackling and dropping the ball...but JJ and to some extent Gregorious is almost developing a weekly routine here.

I'm pissed that Jones dropped another TD, but I'm also pissed that we let the clock run out to end the half. That was bullshit. Don't EVER let your foot off the pedal.

I'm another member of the "Used to have mancrush on Jones second only to Jermichael Finley but now want to see him walk" club.

Also, Redsox raised a good point. On the final drive, I was thinking the Packers obviously had a shot to lose the game, and what a shit show these boards would become with fire McCarthy, playcalling sucks, Jarret Bush is the antichrist predictable rhetoric.

I was then thinking...if the team would have lost what could you have pinned it on? Small breaks here and there, a few drops, a few penalties, sack on the last possession, basically nitpicky stuff, just like nitpicky stuff that cost the Eagles. We want to assume you can attribute a win or loss to such definitive themes and plays, when often the outcome is decided by miniscule breaks.

I was a little irked that at the very least they didn't call a TO and throw a hail mary from the 45 with 5 seconds left.

At the same time, I think they had the Jones drop followed immediately by a delay of game, and playing into the wind, AND the Pack got the ball first in the 2nd half. When you weigh all of those circumstances, I can understand why M M threw up the white flag.

you guys forget how good jones was earlier this season? ... he is our 3rd best WR on this team. And if you just look at the stats for this season the 2nd only behind GJ; better yards and yac then DD and nelson.

and you want to give him walking papers? ...

ya I would of really liked the score to be 21-3 at the 1/2 and felt it would of crushed the eagles ... but remember it was a cold windy day; as could be seen by how many times rodgers 'risked' throwing down field and akers missing 2 'normal' FGs ...
