The fact of the matter is, I don't think that flag is thrown if he's simply scrambling out of the pocket and makes a normal throw that lands 3 yards short of the TE. There is no way they make that call for a safety. So it all comes down to his "unusual throwing motion", which is complete and utter B.S. because there is nothing in the rules even hinting at it.

Bad calls happen all the freaking time.. this one went against us.. we had plenty of yellow laundry on the field that had more of an effect on this game than this single call..

I'm not blaming this call on our loss, BUT if you took it away we win by 1 point. So kinda did have more of an effect.

Give it up. This isnt bowling. If it was bowling, nothing wrong with the pass. But this is football, not bowling.

It was B.S. period.
Rodgers threw the ball underhand in the area of a receiver.
Thats ALL he had to do in that situation.
Thats NOT an illegal pass OR intentional grounding.
The refs don't even know the rules they are supposed to be inforcing.

Actually the rule for intentional grounding says ball has to land AT or beyond los..

the ball landed at the 8.5 yard line los was the 10

If it was bowling there'd be a ton of things wrong with the pass. 1. It's on grass. 2. No pins. 3. Nonspherical ball.

So did giving up 200 plus on the ground.

Penalties.

Lack of an extra timeout in the 2 minute drill at the end of the game.

Not trying to get another first down for a <50 yard field goal to win it.

Getting dominated on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

I agree that one call may change the course of the game, but there are plenty of other opportunities to win such a game.

Never a big fan of pining calls as a point that we lost the game.. now if there were a boatload of calls that went against us unfairly.. maybe time for complaining..

BTW.. we seemed to have some success running at this defense yesterday.. maybe dropping back into your own endzone is questionable the way their front 7 were playing?

We were not getting anything when we DID try to run deep in our own territory.
We were manhandled all the way around.

I think that was ridiculous never should have the 2 points,I know our d-line screwed up but they played and put some points,on the board o-line just couldn't get it going, the yellow all over some of the calls were questionable even the announcers felt that way.

Just because he's out of pocket, doesn't disqualify the intentional grounding call. Because he was out of the pocket (which could be argued either way), the other prerequisite is the ball has to land at or BEYOND the line of scrimmage, regardless of a receiver having a REALISTIC CHANCE of catching the ball. And, sorry, no receiver, now or ever, would have had any sort of chance of catching that ball. Because the ball came up short of the line of scrimmage, the intentional grounding call is good.

Also, to look at it realistically, I think it's safe to say that Rodgers wasn't attempting any sort of pass. He was simply just trying to get rid of it to avoid a sack/safety. Isn't that, by definition, an 'intentional grounding'?

The call is good. The way they announced it was bad.

Actually, it's been reported several times it was a bad call and should not have been flagged. As has been said many times, if the ball was caught it would have been a legal pass, but since it was not caught it was not?

There really is no arguing this at all. Anyone who can read the rules can understand it was a poor call and anyone who watched the game knows it did not determine the outcome of the game. Adrian Peterson was not going to be denied the W during that game.
