(And if you raise taxes, you don't have to cut spending.)

In a perfect world?... Raise taxes in a more progressive manner.

We're already paying WAY too high of taxes. Even raiseing it a little is too much.
We are taxed to earn money, to buy things, and then to save money. If you sat down and figured it all out, i bet well over half of what you make goes for taxes. Wage tax, sales tax, gasoline tax, savings tax. It's insane.

People who can't debate an issue without resorting to using Hate Speech are going to be called out for being stupid and ignorant. Tag! You're "it!"

I just relate the Tea Party to my friends who make good money, don't think they should have to pay any taxes, hate all minorities and welfare cases and think this country is only for the anglo races that supposedly made the country what it once was (that is facism). I repeatedly pick on the Tea Party because I believe the party to be mostly just like my friends, that I have distanced myself from.

Wow......i consider myself a conservative, and most of what the tea party stands for makes sense to me. And i'm not against paying taxes (RESONABLE taxes) i'm not a racist, see that some people really do need help and are not against helping those that are really in need, and not just lazy.
But because of my beliefs it sounds like you'd label me a racist..
That's sad.

All I'm saying is there's a lot more beneath the surface than lowering taxes and realing in spending. They call Obama a socialist, or communist, or even the antichrist - if they are the polar opposites and take up that cross, it makes them fascists. Reasonable people leave their politics in the middle. You're not anything to me Cheesey but my friend, but I won't be talked into joining those tea baggers.

OK Dakota.....(i like you too!) I never agree 100% with ANY of the "talking heads".
I don't disagree with everything Obama says. Just most of what he says. LOL!

So hammering Obama with the Socialist and Communist labels for the last 3 years was what - ethical, righteous. Plenty of name calling bull shit comes from the far right when they aren't in power - all I'm doing in here is playing devils advocate and throwing out things that people think but won't say. The propoganda out of the Fox network sickens me

You pay too many taxes as opposed to what western civilized country with a comparible standard of living to ours? I say you are provided plenty of service and opportunity for your tax dollar. Are you speaking Arabic our Chinese yet. That military we employ costs a lot of money, but you don't have to pay for it?

Anybody singles me out and calls me stupid, I'm pretty much up in their face about it. The only one that gets away with that in here is Formo because he and I have built that rapport over the years, and because I actually love the guy (he better not use that against me either). :)

Whoa. Check my blog. See if there's any reference whatsoever to Obama as a socialist or communist. I think he's neither. The worst I said about him was that there wasn't much policy change between GWB and Obama, which I stand by.

I don't watch Fox News. You think everyone right of center watches that crap?

Careful about stooping down to someone else's level.

And no, not all reasonable people are in the center. In fact, I say the majority of centrists are too chickenshit to offend anyone, thus they stay in the center.

I'm at far right and far left on different issues, far right on guns and immigration, far left on pot and environmental issues for example.

Reasonable people think for themselves and don't let others think for them.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the birth certificate stuff. Not to mention Michelle Obama being criticized for wanting kids to be healthy. It is almost like you have to hate Obama personally or you're not a Republican.

There are reasonable people in the Republican party or who call themselves Republican. It is the party of Abe Lincoln after all. As I said before, Ron and Rand Paul are the only ones talking about cutting defense spending.

But both parties change over time and the G.W. Bush presidency and Obama's election did that to the Republican party. Not for the better IMO.

I'm lost as to what our thread is about anymore other than beat the shit out of me. You guys might have forgotton that North Dakotans know quite a bit about the radical right. After all Gordon Kahl lived less than a hundred miles from me and his group called the Posse Comitatus is alive and well and I'm sure in full support of its more politically correct cousin the Tea party.

Just what we all need Zombie - radical people, without educations, hanging on to and exercising their right to bear arms. Should be fun to watch the next 20 years play out.

It's been fun riling you guys up, when's the draft.

it has been & always will be about personal responsibility & honor. if we all took care of our own home, family, finances, & spent within our means the damn gov't wouldn't be so involved in our lives.

illinois just passed a law that drunk parents could NOT be driven home by their teenage children. seriously? there has to be a LAW for that? one tiny example of irresponsible idiots making horrible choices & then the politicians doing the same!

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
