One thing that strikes me about this pick:

McCarthy is in love with the draw play out of the shotgun. Over the last 3 years we've seen him give it to Jackson with some slight success but overall not the greatest results. All this kid did in college was run out of the spread. He's already experienced in that type of running situation. I think McCarthy will love using Green as a check-down or a 2nd/3rd-and-long draw option.

Just a thought I had.

Unfortunately, the Hawaii OL also had a lot bigger holes on those than he'll see in the NFL (even if we had someone better than Colledge et all at LG.)

You are most likely correct. However keep in mind that some of the failings were not totally BJack's fault. The OL was somewhat culpable.
And if they bring Green on to run a draw on 2nd and long too many times the defense will be waiting for him and break him into pieces. But I am certain Mike knows how to watch out for tendencies.

You are right. I was not trying to pin the blame on Jackson nor was I trying to say Green will be better. I just noticed the correlation between the common play-call and Green's history.

The thing that impressed me the most when I was watching his highlight real on youtube, was not the huge carries. What impressed me was his blocking and pass catching.

The spread made the running lane huge after he got through the line, but he still had to make it through the line. Nobody was able to arm tackle him. He had such good balance.

I doubt that he will get as many chance to break one with our offense, but he will add depth to a position that really needed it last year.

I think the key really is going to be his blocking. If he shows himself a good third-down blocker, Jackson is gone. If he shows that he needs work to block at the pro level, then Jackson likely stays.

Slight problem.. because the millionaires and the billionaires can't figure out how to effectively split 9 billion plus dollars a year, continue to feed their families, expand the benefits for the retired players and grow the game to increase that number even further, we can't get him into camp to run him through some drills and get a feel for his abilities.. how are we going to make a decision in this offseason of whether he can or can't block so we know how to handle the contract situation of Brandon.

Sorry.. the honeymoon of the draft has dissipated and the bleak picture both of the parties have put us, the fans and ultimately the cash flow of the league, and I will continue to get hung up on the utter greed [strike]of the [/strike]that business principles have displayed the past 18 months or so.

And it effects every aspect of the game, the players and the teams of this game in so many different way.. even as simple as spring camp to allow the coaches to run the newbies through drills and help start to paint the roster the will be brought to training camp.

No disagreement at all with you there, Shawn.

I think these clowns have already done enough that, even if they magically settled everything in a week or two (ha!), the quality of football this fall, and our enjoyment of it, have been affected.

Every day it gets easier to contemplate doing other things on fall Sundays.

From what I've seen in video he has good speed, hands, and power. But what really impressed me was his balance. In the one video he does a spin move as two tacklers hit him, breaks the tackles, keeps his balance and continues on. Pretty impressive for a 230 back IMHO.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Martha Careful (4m) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (15h) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (15h) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (23h) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request

Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂

Mucky Tundra (27-Jul) : Golden with two TDs in red zone drills today
Mucky Tundra (27-Jul) : @JacobMorley Shoutout to Quinn Ewers for allowing Matthew Golden to be available when Green Bay picked.
