I just lost my long time Pastor today.  He was like a second father to me.  He had a bad heart attack about 10 years ago.  Still made it until he had another one this morning.  He didn't have much quality of life for the past year or so.  He certainly is better off and in the long run it is easier for his wife who has been working so hard at taking care of him that it endangered her health but he will be missed greatly.

Tough one Wayne.
As much as we talk about the cycle of life and know that the end is inevitable, it always has been and still is difficult to deal with.
My best to the family.

How old an man was he?

Thanks to all for your kind and encouraging words. I do rejoice that he is with the Lord. That he is no longer suffering. That, in the long run, a burden has been lifted off his family. It makes the next days, weeks and months easier.
And yet I miss him and mourn his passing. People are so illogical.
I got a bit of relief yesterday. I do not have to do his eulogy. I have done them for an aunt, my grandmother, my dad and father in law. This would have been much much much more difficult. I offered since I felt I needed to but when the call never came, I was relieved. And that seems a bit selfish to me.

VR- in Aug he would have been 76.

NOT SELFISH in my eyes. You finally get to grieve instead of having the pressure of coming up with something to say.
I envy your pastor. I can't WAIT to be there myself!

With the way things are going, maybe Mrs. Cheesey will want me gone!
Although she keeps telling me "Don't you die on me!"
She seems to be the only reason i'm still willing to be here. But man.....i am SO tired.
Mentally, physically, and so on.
