DakotaT, and all the rest of you who have had flooding recently. Sorry about the flooding you've had, so blame it on the tremondous snow pack we've had this year. I've been busy doing this and that, that retired guys do, but two weeks ago, my daughter Robin called and said she and her housemates needed to evacuate "ASAP" as the Clark Fork River was rising about 4 inches an hour and they were in the extended flood plain in Missoula. Now, she's 3/4 mile from the river and the last time that area flooded badly was 1908....the flood of the century.

So.......good neighbor Chuck and I grabbed neighbor Joe's boat from his driveway....hitched it up to my truck, (Joe's boat was on a boat trailer), and headed in to Missoula. BTW, new neighbor Joe is a sheriffs deputy.

We got to the corner of 3rd st. and Tower St. (Robin lives on Tower St.) and hit a sheriffs roadblock, and water off to our right covering what once had been Tower Gardens, a landscaping business. This is 3/4 mile from the river. Damned if the deputy manning the roadblock isn't Joe himself.

Dialog from here on...........

Bob: Hey Joe! What's happening?

Joe: Hey, what are you guys up to?

Chuck: Bob and I are rescuing his daughter from the flood.

Joe: (very officially btw) "I need her address before you can go in there. You know, looters and such."

Bob: "1212 South Tower Road..........and that's her and Kim waving to us from their yard."

Robin and Kim wave to us from their front yard, which is now filled with water about 4 feet deep.

Joe: "Okay, you can go on in. But be careful. That current is 8 miles per hour and it'll knock a horse down."

Bob: "Do we look like horses?"

Joe: "Hey, that looks like my boat. (long pause)
THAT IS MY BOAT! What the hell?"

Chuck: "we were in a hurry and this was the closest boat we could find."

Bob: "Yeh, and remember, "Protect and Serve."

Joe: "Okay, just put it back in my driveway when you're done."

So...we're in towards Robins house about 600 yards from the roadblock, in about 4 feet of water that is flowing quite rapidly towards the Pacific Ocean, on what we are guessing is Tower Street. Robin and Kim are paddling an old canoe loaded with household stuff towards us.

About 20 feet before we meet, Robin stands up and takes a gun from her pantwaist and fires into the water about 10 feet in front of me. I had been walking along side the boat, not paying much attention to the surroundings except as to what was ahead.

My ears were ringing with the sound of that 9mm going off 10 feet from me, and Chuck yells out," Good shot, Robin. Ya just saved your Dad from another trip the the snakebite center at St. Pat's."

Robin takes a paddle and hoists up a 6 1/2 foot Prairie Rattlesnake that was headed right towards me as it was forced out of its den by the flood and was simply trying to get away.

Man...talk bout the Gods being with you, and having a daughter that's another Annie Oakley.
Anyway, Robin and her housemates are safe, their belongings are safe, and their house is a waterlogged mess. The water is still 3 feet above flood stage, so they all moved into a trailer not far from there and are having a good old time. Shooting rattlesnakes, drinking Pabst Beer, and promising Joe his boat will get back to him someday.

Of course in many parts of the country, Joe would have cited Robin for illegal discharge of a firearm within city limits. (And in NYC, Mayor-the-Mouth Bloomberg would likely have ordered the DA to try to get her into Plaxico Burress's old cell.)

I don't know, I'm picturing Sharon Stone in "The "Quick and the Dead" as your daughter but then I'm an admitted pervert. Anyway, sorry you guys are flooding too. It's been a wild year. These wet years have been real good for the bee business though.

I sorta liked Stone in Total Recall. :)

Find the video of that scene online. That's all you really need to see in the movie.

I'm not sure how she held the gun. All I know she is a damned good shot. I'm guessing the snake was 10-12 feet from me, but with the fast current and muddy water I couldn't see it.

Water is receding now, leaving a mess in its wake. Robin is back at their house, which fortunately just got the basement flooded....up to the ceiling. But they need a new furnace among other things. Landlords going to cover it. Joe got his boat back without any damage.......at least none that is visible in plain sight. He may never notice that one of the tires on the boat trailer is different that what was on before, but hey! Shit happens.

Bob I just wanted to let you know I looked a very long time for a "dad approved" photo of a good looking girl with a gun. There a lot of Zero approved ones.

Zero2Cool (7h) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (16h) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (16h) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (17h) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (17h) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round

beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request

Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
Zero2Cool (29-Jul) : Sure seems site going down more than 50¢ hooker
