I have at least a couple friends who ONLY pay for Netflix and don't even have basic cable. I'm not sure of exactly what basic cable costs, but I bet some options for Netflix are significantly cheaper.

Since we would have the internet regardless of Netflix, I'm saving at LEAST $50/month for TV programming.

I did this while living in Green Bay, but sadly DirecTV is my only way of seeing every Packers game ... so.. I'm screwed.

Yeah, that's why I said "a couple of my friends" because I still have to maintain my DirectTV mostly for their NFL Sunday Ticket. It hurts me to pay that massive price for it, but HD Packer games on my big screen every Sunday is just too good to resist. Of course the DVR is nice too. Other than that, I just have a fairly basic channel package through them with no movie channels. That's what Netflix is for!

I keep seeing this add that says DirecTV isn't charging extra for NFL Sunday Ticket... probably for NEW customers only. I'm sure we'll get screwed on that.
