This is a good point, Shawn. I, too, have been wondering about Burnett this year. He doesn't seem to be in the right place as much as he was last year.
I wonder, could part of it be that he is being asked to do other, extra things, to correct for rookies who would otherwise be out of position to make plays more often?
I guess what I'm asking here, particularly for those who know defensive backfield play more than I do, is how many of the plays that McMillian and Heyward have been making might have plays possible despite their being out of their assigned position? And on the plays that Burnett isn't making this year, how many of them are because he's leaving his position to cover the consequences of the rookies being out of theirs?
Does this make any sense?
