Sellout criteria has been met. The game will NOT be blacked out. Not that anyone thought it would.

I think this lack of sell out by the fans really goes to what was said in the division championship thread about us fans being spoiled with success. I think 15 years ago this game sells out within an hour. Being the 5th consecutive year of the Packers in the playoffs, fans have been spoiled.

This does not mean you can't get tickets yet because I'm sure the agreement was something like "at 3:35pm we will buy the remaining tickets, but continue to try and sell as many as you can" or something like that to ensure a full sellout prior to the 3:40pm deadline.

You probably won't read about it because the big story is the rabid Packers fans aren't buying up PLAYOFF TICKETS. On the D-List they are still talking about a potential blackout even though they acknowledge all tickets have been sold. Why? Because it's a story.

The ticket exchange doesn't count because those tickets were already sold. NFL doesn't care about you trying to resell your tickets and getting stuck with them. They have their bucket of gold already.

I wondered what the "criteria" was too. I figure a sellout is a sellout. Maybe the NFL says it has to be 90 or 95% of capacity. Since they arbitrarily set the rules for blackouts they can call a stadium that is 90% full a sellout if they want.

Starting to question my hearing and listening comprehension skills. I swear they said corporate sponsor BOUGHT all remaining tickets and guaranteed no blackout. I heard them say it more than once, but even Rob says Packers aren't saying squat?

I wonder if Packers were told not to announce the corporate sponsor buying up the last tickets in hopes fans buy them ultimately saving the sponsor money?

And Zero, thanks for the additional feedback. I guess we'll have to wait and see. It's not uncommon for a team's corporate sponsors to buy up tickets prior to a blackout deadline to prevent a blackout. I seem to recall it happening a bunch in St. Louis when I lived there.

And bottom line, I agree with you that the story is the fact that we didn't sell this out immediately. It's shocking and really disappointing. We sell out family night in minutes for crying out loud, and we can't sell out a home playoff game? I don't know if it's us being spoiled by success, the weather, not expecting to be in the playoffs, or whatever else it could be but it's shocking.

While I believe it is a story, I am extremely annoyed that radio stations like 540 are talking about it only and not discussing the game. The D-List guys are ranting idiots to begin with for the sole sake of being contrarians and I only listen to them because they randomly have Jason Wilde. I have to find another station.

So let me get this right. You have to prepay for Packers playoff tickets? Even when they had like a 10 percent chance of making it?
