I am not sure how long this has been bothering him, but I guarantee that he aggravated it in that last game. He attempted a tackle after an INT and he landed pretty much the same as Rodgers did against Tampa. Weight on his outstretched arm.

They showed him a bunch on the sideline holding and rubbing his shoulder area.

See this makes me think he just tore it at that moment. I don't think he could have played that many weeks with a torn biceps. He may have had a bad shoulder prior- but I bet the actual tear happened at that point.

sucks. but maybe this will be a good thing for him. he said he doesn't want to undergo surgery in order to keep playing. maybe this will kind of force him to not play. i know it's not my place, but i think he needs to stop playing football. for the sake of his body. for the sake of his legacy. for the sake of his mental health. the man needs to move on.

Or maybe he should start throwing with his left arm :)

Maybe it's just me but i want him to come back again. Watching him give everything he's got is inspiring. Watching that horrendous offensive line let the d-lineman pour in to slam him to the turf over and over was not fun but watching him get back up and get back behind center every time is inspiring.

Getting rid of Mangini was the first step, trading Coles and getting a good tall receiver would be the next step. People need to realize only 1 team can win a superbowl each year and you have to lower your expectations.

Michael Jordan came back with the Wizards and everyone said he shoudl have stayed retired. For what? Let the guy play. A 40 year old QB has nothing to be embarrassed about if he doesnt play like Joe Montana.

I'm sure not as much as he would like to. The shoulder injury will also limit his strength when drawing his bow hunting.

No one knows for sure when he tore it. So it's hard to say how much of the "Bad Brett" was caused by the tear.
Again though, if it was THAT painful, he should have taken himself out for the sake of the TEAM. If you know you are doing more harm then good, why destroy your team for personal gain?

Again, you haven't seen the Jets' backups. If the coaches felt they had a better chance with their backups, it's their job to take him out not his. His job is to show up and give everything he has until they decide he can't do the job.

I can't speak too much about the politics of the Jets. but, do you actually think Favre would let Mangina (oops, I mean Mangini) remove him from the game. Don't think so.

Favre was pulled from games before. If Mangini lacked the stones to bench Favre, that's all the more reason for firing Mangini. What's more likely was they felt Favre gave them a better chance to win than their backups, and that's saying something.
