Green Bay Packers: Time to move on beyond Jermichael Finley

Jermichael Finley is too valuable to what the Packers do on offense to simply "move on" without replacing him. He has great hands and great versatility. If he is cleared to play, sign him up.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has said it time and again this offseason — he would love to work with the likes of free agents Jermichael Finley, Ryan Pickett and Johnny Jolly once again. But time is running out, especially for tight end Finley. While his locker remains intact in the Packers locker

If the doctor clears him, which is a HUGE long shot, sure. Give him a one year deal.

By the end of that contract we'll see what we have in Rodgers, Lyerla, Perillo and Bostick.

I'm more or less with nerdmann. I actually still think the Packers should consider him, but the daily posts about him being spotted at the one Applebee's in Green Bay are getting excessive.

Another non story on our TEs. Ugh. I read this stuff days ago.

Finley will not return to GB anytime before November, if he is signed by the team at all.

Would Finley come in as the #1, 2, 3, or 4 TE?

He had spinal fusion surgery mid November. I do not see him being cleared by McKenzie anytime before October, and even that is a stretch. If he is somehow signed, he will go straight to the PUP.

It is a nice sentiment, but it is time to move on with what we have.
