Why is this guy such a douchebag to the media? Did someone in the media piss in his Cheerios or something? Is there some kind of history here I don't know about?

I don't think he's a douche. I think the mandate for players to speak is wrong. The NFL has a plethora of athletes who can't wait to open their mouth. Why force those who want to be silent to have a voice? The NFL product will not suffer. It's not like the reporters can't talk to other players for a story. What would you rather have, 10 stories about Aaron Rodgers, or 10 stories about different Packers players getting to know each a little more?

It's part of his job. If he doesn't want to talk, he should quit football. I don't care what excuses he has, it's part of the job requirement.
Stop being such a clown, and do THAT part of your job also.
He's very talented, and should grow up, man up, and do interviews.
One day he will look back, and WISH he had someone that wanted to hear what he has to say.

What I don't get is all these people and how they belittle players. If a guy wants to be in front of the media all the time he is a Diva and now if he doesn't want to be in front of the camera he is a douche. The NFL should just give the script to all the reporters and just indicate that that certain player made these statements. As Sherman and Doug Baldwin said in there little speeches after Lynch was fined $100,000 for not answering the questions the way the NFL wanted. They stated they can get fined for not speaking but yet they aren't paid to speak to the media. Their sponsors pay them alot of money but yet the NFL don't want them talking about their sponsors. Like they said the NFL don't want the players to sponsor any beer companies or booze but yet the NFLs biggest sponsor is beer. How does that work.

Sorry got carried away just tired of all the media just trying to create stories out of nothing. Sick of this already and the deflategate.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

He clearly doesn't feel comfortable talking to the media. I don't see why that's a big deal.

I just wrote an article about him for Row12. I make the case that he deserves to go into the Hall of Fame. I think he's that good, and that important to Seattle.

Here's the article if you're interested: http://www.row12.com/article/2828/Marshawn_Lynch_The_Heart_of_Seattle/

I personally don't give a rat's ass if he talks to the media. I don't need to hear more "one game at a time" PC quotes, or some Richard Sherman-esque post game jabs at Crabtree. I honestly don't pay much attention to athlete's quotes either way. However, to me his words and actions just appear to be him being a pain for the sake of it.

I'm also not going to pretend that I know him based on his end zone antics or his lack of interview skills. None of that matters.

What matters is he’s a heck of a football player who also seems to be a good teammate. You don’t hear any Cal Bears, Buffalo Bills, or Seattle Seahawks speaking out against him. Aaron Rodgers, who was his teammate at Cal, spoke fondly of him. All things being equal, I rather watch him play for my favorite team than go against it.
