Green Bay has NEVER had a TE in it's history that was close to Rob Gronkowski. Keith Jackson wasn't even close.

Really now ?

Paul Coffman (1978-85) 39 TD 4,223 yards...... just as good of a receiver as Gronk and he played with rules that didn't favor the receiving TE.Coffman was selected to three Pro Bowls

Marv Fleming (1963-69) He was the first player to appear in five Super Bowls: I and II with the Packers, and Super Bowls VI, VII and VIII with the Dolphins, including the 1972 undefeated team. Fleming also won the 1965 NFL title with Green Bay. Not huge he played when the TE wasn't as big a deal.. tough SOB would have sent Gronk calling for his momma.

Ron Kramer (1957, 1959-64) From 1960-64, Kramer hauled in 142 passes for 2,257 yards and rumbled for 15 TDs. Kramer is defined by his contribution to Lombardi’s power sweep, in which Kramer lined up outside the tackle and nailed linebackers, creating either the inside or outside crease the famous coach drilled for endlessly in practice. Despite his devastating blocking, Kramer also had the speed to get loose in the secondary, and he was a quick option for Bart Starr on a blitz. Again a player tougher then Gronk ever imagined being.

I can go on but won't. Please quit quantifying your argument with NEVER if you really don't know. Your argument for a better receiving TE is valid but it comes unhinged when you try desperately to spew packers hate regarding personal and management.

Gronk's a little bit overrated. As you said, he's the focus of their offense.

RR will get 50+ receptions this year, barring injury.

This time it actually has morphed into a bizarre propping up of Richard Rodgers as Rob Gronkowski's near equal. That has nothing to do with Ted Thompson but the delusion follows along that similar line.

Green Bay has NEVER had a TE in it's history that was close to Rob Gronkowski. Keith Jackson wasn't even close.

You can also have the opinion that Matt Blanchard is almost as good as Tom Brady and I will call it insane/ridiculous/wrong etc. You've made it even more clear how we have never had anyone like Gronk. I watched Paul Coffman. A very good TE. He was NOTHING like Gronk. NOTHING.

It's almost like reading Nigel Hayes is almost as good as LeBron James just because Nigel is local. If Richard Rodgers played for any other team you wouldn't even think for a second he was a good TE much less like Gronk. Is Kyle Rudolph close to Gronk? No...not even close. RR isn't anywhere near as good as Kyle Rudolph.

It is funny you can support RR through the homer lens and trash Janis through that same lens. That is bizarre to me.

Last offseason we had a poster who left because I was "too mean" about what he typed about Jarrett Boykin. Boykin was better than Alshon Jeffery is how that went. Same guy who said Davante Adams was better than Sterling Sharpe. Those "opinions" were just plain crazy to me...and should've been to everyone but not to some.

I'm not attempting to be a jerk but if you want to attack me at least do it with something credible not crazy. There was no reason for someone to even attempt posting how some good TE in Packers history was as good as Gronkowski. That's just embarrassing. What should I say in response? Nothing? That you're right when it's plain nuts?

Honestly Richard Rodgers and Gronk do not belong in the same sentence. Gronk is a once in a decade player, Rodgers will be a quality starter.
