I love Jenkins, but do not think that is our primary need now switching to 3-4, your thoughts?

I think it's hard to get an impact 1st year guy, with the possible exception of the outside rusher types (Maybin, Brown). I agree with you that it isn't necessarily a priority, but I also think I would be very happy with the pick a few years down the road. It's hard to pass on the best CB in the draft.

The Walter football now has us taking Raji because of the hire of Capers
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Look at some of the first-day CBs in the last few drafts:

Antonio Cromartie, Leon Hall, Johnathan Joseph, Darelle Revis, Chris Houston, DRC, Aqib Talib

Not all have been instant pro bowlers, but they're all respectable starters, if not the #1 CB for their respective teams. I have been pining for a 1st round CB for a while, and getting one like Jenkins would make me a happy boy indeed. Although Kiper putting him there in his mock makes me mad, cause he's 0-fer about 20 on Packers picks recently....

But yeah, if Jenkins makes it to 9, and he gets passed up, I'm gonna cry. Profusely.

Want an honest opinion.. I like Davis out of Illinois overall better than Jenkins.... but one can never have to many quality corners..

Vontae's got upside, for sure. But it's hard to argue with Jenkins' consistency - I thought someone mentioned that he would have been a top pick if he'd have come out the last couple years, which is impressive.

Definitely something we don't need right now. Go for a good CB in the 2nd round if he wants one. Get a good tweener right now like Maybin or Brown.

I would not understand us going after Jenkins. I'm expecting Maybin or Orakpo.

I doubt Maybin even goes in the first round. Some of the safeties in the draft look stronger than him.

Jenkins could be the pick because Harris and Woodson are getting older, and the team could use a corner to fill their shoes when they retire. It might not be a sexy pick now, but down the road we could be better off for it.

With that said, I'd rather see a left tackle taken at 9.

Yeah key words there are "down the road"....I want to make it to the superbowl this coming year, I don't want to have to wait until down the road. I think with the 9 spot we could get an immediate impact player. Hopefully a very successful tweener.
