This thread and many of it's posters are premature. As many are used to premature actions in their daily lives, IMO this forum is not the place for such behavior. This topic can wait until after the entire season is concluded. 😱

Also maybe keeping Hayward, and upgrading TE, ILB and Safety depth... but it's possible (not saying likely but possible) those positions improve from guys already within the organization like Rodgers, Backman, Henry, Palmer, Barrington, Thomas, Hyde, Banjo, etc

Edit: Oh yeah and maybe get a RB with some speed who can be used as a change up back or even like a RB in the backfield... the Broncos and Patriots have shown how having that super quick receiver type RB can be a huge change up and throw the defense off.... and while defenses have to worry about a power back, they normally don't have to worry about them breaking off 20 yards down feild, which the threat of a RB doing just that could be huge. They had a plan for the Franklin type RB but he got hurt ... hopefully they're still looking into that type of backs.

TT will draft BPA. Most likely, when it's our turn, they'll be several guys of different positions all in the same talent tier, then the BPA becomes the guy who sits at our greatest position of need. Our positions of need will be determined by who we resign. The FAs are:

UFA (In order of importance-Guion and Neal move down the list if Raji and Perry are signed)
Daniels
Crosby
Goode
Raji
Guion
Perry
Neal
Hayward (Luxury, if cheap enough, he's gonna get a big offer)
Starks (Luxury-if cheap enough, we should get him for close to min contract)
Quarles
Barclay
Tolzein
Kuhn
J.Jones

RFA
Banjo
Mulumba
Taylor

ERFA:
Abby
Perrillo

We have 39 guys under contract for 2016 for 123,615,980.
D.Jones, Pennell, Boyd
Peppers, Palmer, Barrington, CM3, Elliot, Ryan, Thomas, Rasco
Shields, Dix, Burnett, Randall, Rollins, Hyde, Goodson, Gunter

Baktieri, Sitton, Linsley, Lang, Bulaga, Walker, Tretter
R.Rodgers, Cobb, Nelson, Adams, Lacy, A.Rodgers Backman, Monty, Janis, Harris, Hundley

Mastay

At the moment we are set to carry over 12M, leaving the 2016 cap salaries at 112M. If the cap goes up to a conservative 150M, we'll have 38M to spend; if to 160 as some are predicting; we'll have 48M to spend in 2016.

If we tag Daniels at about 12M; sign Banjo, Ringo, Abby, Crockett, Henry, Perillo, Vukjonivich and Rotheram for about 4.3; our rookie class for another 3.7M our 53 will be covered for 132M. Leave 7M for 2017. Then 11-21M in cap space is there for the rest of the FAs and a bunch more if Daniels is signed [Note: for every other FA signed about a .5M salary can be deducted].

I also put Daniels at the top of the FA list. However, I'm pretty sure they will sign him long term for a lot less on the cap than the $12 million tag number. Below him, the order for UFAs should be: Hayward, Starks, Neal, Crosby, Goode, and that's it. Quarless, Tolzien, J. Jones, Barclay, and Perry only if cheap, and no way to Raji and Guion.

The Packers need to resign 2 of Daniels, Guion, Raji, and either Perry or Neal. Put a couple of high draft picks into their replacements and the defense should only suffer a small dip for a year. A big reason the Packers D has done well this season is because of the depth at OLB/D-Line, but lose just a couple people and that strength becomes a weakness.

I think Hayward is gone, he'll want starter money and the Packers have Rollins/Randall for the future. With Richardson/Hayward gone the Packers probably draft some replacements on day 2 or 3. Ideally the draft for me would be something like:

Round 1: D-Line
Round 2: OLB
Round 3: TE
Round 4: CB
Round 5: OT
Round 6: Safety
Round 7: WR

The trouble when we start looking at needs is thar we get away from best player available. I know it's semantic but I prefer to think in terms of "I hope the best guy on the board is...."

1) because we're picking 32nd so we'll need to get good value and
2) Even if we pick something we don't "need" we can trade someone for more lower round picks, where our O-Line comes from

If they sign Daniels, even for 48 over 4, the 2016 cap hit will be less, closer to 7-8M. But Daniels scares the bejeezes out of me. I saw EDSmith keep Suh under control; EDS wouldn’t be able to do that to Daniels. This guy has 3 sacks and hardly ever plays in passing downs. Suh had other players around him; last year Daniels had no one; this year a little more help; but he’s constantly D-Teamed [loved to see stats on that]. When not DT’d , he pushes the G 2-3-4 yards into backfield. He’s the single most dominant DLman I see. He’s still ascending; he’s freaking playing out of postion!!!! A tweener as Nerd likes to call them. If cap goes to 160M and 12-15 GMs are FLUSH with cash; if I thought about paying 20M for Suh [I wouldn’t], I wouldn’t hesitate to pay 15M for Daniels, right? There is some GM with a 4-3 imagining what this guy could do as a 3 tech in his D. How many games has he missed? Oh and he’s our D’s ā€œbeastmode.ā€ We won the SD game because of him and Clay beastmodin’ and flyin’ around, so everyone else played like effervescent little kids for 92 freakin’ snaps, I’ve never seen that before in GB. Marshawn Lynch is so important because when he does those insane runs it jacks up the other 52 guys, that’s Daniels. Daniels cannot be had for 10M per. He has elevated his game beyond Luiget and Heyward. The negotiation starts at 12M per, the amount of the tag. We cant let him hit open market; someone will pay him 15M maybe 18M; I wouldn’t be shocked if some D-bag GM, flush w/ 80-90 of cap space, yes Iā€˜m talking about you Mckenzie, pays him 20M to come to Oak.

In the first round, I think Ted Thompson should draft another Mike Daniels!!! 😁

Hayward, clearly the 2nd best UFA, he’s our best CB [Only because Shields had one bad and one mediocre game]. House got 6.5M per; how much is Casey gettin? That’s the only reason he’s not #2 on my list. You cant have enough CBs; but at 8-9M Min to sign Casey and Goodson, Rollins Gunter and Whitt to mold another, he’s down on my list.

Perry will only be affordable because of his injury history that’s why he’s up higher on my list; like to see a Neal type deal from a few years ago [2yr 8M].

Starks-really nice player he’d be up higher; but we NEED a K and LS, one OLB and two DLman before a second RB. Especially with Harris and Crockett there. And Neal could be resigned after we win SB as well.

Raji is our only disagreement; but even there maybe not so much. There has to be an element of prove it with him; if he gets guaranteed big bucks I don’t want 2012-13 Raji coming back, then we run with Pennell and get a 4th rounder in 2017 and use it redraft Mike Daniels.

Zero2Cool (19h) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in

beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request

Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
