And just why do you guys think that 3rd and 1 trouble is? - You who deny how shitty our O Line is, I mean? The only way we can ever run anything is some kind of trickery or misdirection - that or the RB bouncing somewhere away from the big stack up where the play is called. To just man up and push 'em back in an obvious run situation like 3rd and 1? It just ain't happening with this O Line. And of course, they aren't capable of decent pass blocking either.

Everbody has their problems!!!!!!

As the article states, a good QB(which The Packers have), and a good running back(Will Eddie please get his head on straight), goes a long way to making and O-line what it is.

Right now teams have no fear of the running game, which effects the passing game.

Why is there no fear? See above.

How often do the Packers run up the gut on 3rd and 1?
Do they use I-formation or single back or is it out of the shotgun with a draw?
Wait, do they even run or do they throw it deep?

I'm willing to bet if we analyzed each 3rd and 1 we would see a good percentage of conversions made when the quarterback is under center and formation is single back or I-formation with running between the Tackles.

When you're quarterback is in the pistol or shotgun, the running back loses nearly half a second if vision. That's not good when split second decisions are determining a successful one yard conversion.

I can't answer that the Packers feel they can't out muscle defensive line's because I don't have the analysis on what they've done under the formations I mentioned with the down and distance I mentioned. If they attempted 20 times and converted just three times, I would concur the OL is weak sauce. I would bet though that the conversion percentage is helluva lot higher when they try converting 3rd and 1 from under center vs the shotgun/pistol.

While we're on the topic, can I suggest we eliminate that deep pitch from the pistol? We rarely have the blocking/back combination to really hit that play. I think I can count a handful of plays over 10 yards where that call has worked.

It's not so much that the team doesn't often succeed on 3rd and 1 because they use pistol or shotgun or whatever; It's that they go from shotgun or pistol because they know damn well it would be futile to line up and run it up the gut even with the QB under center. If there is no hole anyway - the O Line just gets stacked up and pushed back, then getting there that half second or whatever quicker wouldn't make a helluva lot of difference. And THAT is what we see just about all the time with this O Line.

Can we run a fucking quarterback sneak once? Just once. That's all I ask.

Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
