The way the NFL is set up is for one winner. The object of the game is to be the one winner. Anything less than that doesn't bring any satisfaction.

The point at which I stop enjoying the game is the point at which I will stop following it.

But again, I seriously doubt you're being honest (with us or yourself) when making the claim that the SB is the only thing that brings you satisfaction. I think you're simply trying to convince us you've reached some sort of moral high ground where, because your belief is more "pure" you think your opinions should have more value than others.

I'm more inclined to believe the fan of a team that won only three games last season understands their team needs those 1st and 2nd round picks to build a core rather than adding an elite quarterback who is in his 30's. That's just basic common sense to me.

I'm ashamed that Packers fans, regardless of it being one or a handful, are wanting to shove off Aaron Charles Rodgers. Even more so that some are using PackersHome to dispense such atrocious garbage.

We were fortunate to have Brett Favre.
We are fortunate to have Aaron Rodgers.
Goodness we are beyond words fortunate to have had them back-to-back.

If you can't appreciate what Aaron Rodgers brings to the Packers. Please, go root for any number of about two dozen teams for a season and maybe we'll let you back in after you realize how ungrateful and unappreciative you are of the great fortunate the Packers have had at quarterback over the last two plus decades.

#9 is the one I concur with. That is exciting because it's a chance to get better and actually realize the goal of the season. Like was said elsewhere...the Janis catch would've been remembered as one of the greatest plays in NFL history had they won. They didn't so it's relegated to Randall Cobb's non catch when he injured his ribs....nice but irrelevant. That is what all those things on your list are if they don't lead to a championship save for #9.

When I bought a Powerball ticket and didn't win I didn't get any satisfaction from playing. The satisfaction comes through winning. I had a chance to win like anyone else but I didn't. Game over. Moving on.

#9 is the one I concur with. That is exciting because it's a chance to get better and actually realize the goal of the season. The others...not really all that enjoyable unless it ultimately leads to winning the Lombardi. Like was said elsewhere...the Janis catch would've been remembered as one of the greatest plays in NFL history had they won. They didn't so it's relegated to Randall Cobb's non catch when he injured his ribs....nice but irrelevant. That is what all those things on your list are if they don't lead to a championship save for #9.

When I am competing, I get satisfaction from my effort and performance whether I win or lose. Sure there is more satisfaction in winning but there is satisfaction to be had in not winning also.

I go and watch my kids compete, and get satisfaction whether they win or lose. Seeing them have fun and enjoying themselves is enough satisfaction in of itself.

OK, we get it. You derive your satisfaction only from your favorite team winning the Super Bowl. That's great. But why is it so difficult for you to understand that not everyone enjoys sports in the same ways as you do? Why would you or anyone else try to minimize or convince someone that their way of enjoying something isn't correct or not as valid as yours? That makes absolutely no sense. We understand your perspective. It has been noted. Others may feel differently, and they are going to enjoy the game in whatever way feels natural to them no matter how many pages you write on internet forums or argue in bars. It's fine to state your opinions, but at some point, we get it. We don't need to read the same few opinions hundreds of times ad nauseam. My feeling is expectations should be the goal and nothing short is satisfying. Those who like good don't care about greatness as I said earlier. Those who love greatness couldn't care less about being good. That is the line of demarcation for the "strife" that the Dakotas and myselfs of the world bring here. Are you really going to fault us for wanting greatness? I would hope you could at least see why we find fault with the things we do but it appears you don't and would rather attempt telling us we're wrong just as you say you hate when we do it to you.

Hey, I'm with you on all of this...but...if we're watching a professional football team on TV, I want to see the ultimate, not something that leaves you hollow.

lol, I suppose that's the main difference here. The NFL doesn't make me feel hollow in anyway. It makes me a little pissed off here and there, but win or lose, I move on very quickly. It doesn't impact me much more than an episode of Breaking Bad of The Walking Dead. I love the shows, but it's just entertainment. I haven't missed a snap of Packers football since 2005 and attend games whenever I can, but ultimately, it's just entertainment. It barely impacts my life when I'm not actively watching the game or reading/posting online.

Also, I'll leave the stress of failure up to those that are getting paid for the performance of the team (players, coaches, administration). That's their responsibility. I want the Packers to win, make no mistake. But ultimately, I have absolutely no control over their success and it doesn't pay my bills in any way, so it's simply not something I dwell on. I'm thankful for that. I know many take it much more personally, and that's fine I suppose, but I choose not to. I'll still enjoy watching great hail mary throws and completions.
