The rule is to encourage students to finish college so they have a degree to "fall" back onto. That I agree with, however, if the student has graduated, the rule should be amended to not pertain to them.

I am aware of why the rule is in place. You can't force someone to get a degree. You can only recommend that they do.

They will only do so if they want to. For example Cobb is graduating now.

If the NFL really wanted to make sure they earn a degree then everyone would need to have a degree before playing in the league.
