Cook can’t just beat press coverage but he will abuse it. He will outmuscle a defensive back and blow by a linebacker. That will leave the middle of the field free for Richard Rodgers and Perillo to roam.

The double tight end formation will also help Eddie Lacy more. If teams start to respect the pass, Aaron Rodgers can bring both tight ends in to block and Lacy should see large running lanes.

This article just convinced me that Jared Cook is the Packers 3rd receiver (at least as of right now).

Nelson, Cobb, Cook, Rodgers and Lacy might be the best personal grouping for the Packers.

Of course rotate in and other the others as well. But Cobb and Rodgers can control the short and mid level routes while Nelson and Cook work mid and deep level routes.

This may be one of the most talented rosters we've had in training camp overall and I'm just loving watching the competitions unfold man.

Only speed guys I thought should make it were Corey Bradford, Charles Johnson and Janis. We have lacked that element on O for too many seasons. Ahman had speed...the best Packers back in my 35 years of watching. Team suffers without speed dimension. Common sense, really.

Davante is lucky Janis is injured. Davante no better than 5th in our pecking order. A bust for a 2nd rounder.

Davis or Davante? Rook is going to have to put on a show. Personally, would rather see Dakota's guy, Geronimo beat out Adams. Not sure what appreciable element Adams brings to our O?

Finally, ANY personnel grouping including Richard Rodgers needs upgrading. I'd take JP from Maine and Kennard from UAB over the caltrastrophic mistake that is RR.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

If everyone is fully healthy, I don't think Davis is currently at the same level as the others. Partly due to him being a rookie and most of the others being veterans. And Mike McCarthy seems to resist the idea of keeping 7 WRs. So if everyone is healthy (or healthy enough to not IR) then I don't know what they do.

It seems as every time the Packers draft a WR with speed and/or return abilities, fans seem to think those skill sets are too important to let go.

On topic, I'm hoping one of these guys will stand up and be a good outside target opposite Jordy, but I'm not holding my breath. Abbrederis being the nr. 3 receiver just solidifies that for me.

I have no idea who will end up #3 or whatever but I wouldn't take it as a great sign that a player is currently a starter if he's still in there deep into the 4th quarter of a preseason game like Abby was.

I still think Adams has the best chance to start as the #3 and be on the field when we go with 1 TE since he is the better outside threat than Monty or Abby but I do see us going with 2 TEs a lot so the #3 guy may not get many more snaps.

Having RR as our #1 TE is a scary proposition but the addition of Cook as the big play TE IMO will only help add to RR's value as the move the chains red zone target.

I know uffda doesn't like slow guys but having one who can catch anything is not so bad. I'd rather have a slow guy who can catch and run good routes than a fast guy who can't. It sounds like JP (I assume uffda meant Perillo) might be that guy as well though so it really doesn't matter to me who it is as long as the guy catches the passes.

All in all it is shaping up to be an exciting offensive season. Defensive too actually.

My money is on the high draft picks earning the #3 and #4 spots (Adams + Montgomery). I think if Abbrederis can stay healthy though he may get snaps ahead of Montgomery to start the season since he's still working his way back onto the field after coming off the PUP.

Also not sure if this is a bold prediction or not but I think Rodgers starts over Cook in most packages and finishes the year with more touchdowns + yards.
