Kinda off topic: how bad was our offense that we punted almost 50% more than TB?

Buccaneers had 56 punts.

25 more punts for the Packers. Hmm

Has BJ Sander improved over the years? Where is Jeremy Kapinos? Colquitt next if Jake blows it tonight?

Schum has to be among the worst and my least favorite name of any Packers player...ever.

Is it pronounced like Schumacher without the acher?

Schum Schum like Mazda ad?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Well considering the SB champs had more punts than the Packers I think TB having so few is because of them having far fewer possessions. Haven't been able to find that stat though.

Broncos had Budweiser Manning . He was terrible. Their O looked a lot like ours, dreadful. No real run game either. That team knew it could punt and rely on their D and that's what they did.

Haven't been this excited about a punter since BJ Sander. Hope he's better than ol BJ.

I'd feel more confident in his punting ability if his professional career did not look like this (Summing up, he bounced around between 3 teams (Browns/Bucs/Jets) with tenures lasting days/weeks for the most part. Last year he was signed by the Bucs at the end of Training Camp (26 Aug), the other punters were cut by 1 Sep, and then he lasted all of 1 year at TB.):

Professional career
Cleveland Browns

Schum signed with the Cleveland Browns on March 28, 2013 but was later waived by the team on May 13, 2013.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

On January 6, 2014, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Schum to a reserves/futures contracts and was later waived on May 21, 2014.

New York Jets

Schum was signed by the New York Jets on June 19, 2014 to compete with incumbent Ryan Quigley in training camp. He was released on August 23, 2014.

Second stint with the Buccaneers

The Buccaneers signed Schum to their practice squad on November 14, 2014, but was waived four days later.

Second stint with the Jets

The Jets signed Schum to a reserve/future contract on December 30, 2014. He was released on August 18, 2015.

Third stint with the Buccaneers

On August 26, 2015, the Buccaneers signed Schum to compete with Karl Schmitz and Michael Koenen. By September 1, Schum was the last remaining punter on the Buccaneers roster after roster cuts. On August 28, 2016, Schum was waived by the Buccaneers.

Green Bay Packers

Schum was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers on August 30, 2016.

And what a SB Nation TB fan site said about his being cut:

http://www.bucsnation.com/2016/8/28/12680828/buccaneers-2016-roster-cuts-jacob-schum

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have started their initial roster cuts by releasing Jacob Schum, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The punter was competing with Bryan Anger for a roster spot, and soundly lost that battle. Schum doesn’t really have the leg to be a competent NFL punter, and he produced one of the worst net(41.9) and gross (38.0) punting averages in the league last year. Schum averaged 39.9 yards per punt this preseason.

Meanwhile, Anger is a former third-round pick with a big leg who averaged 47 gross yards per punt over his four-year career, and 40.5 yards net. He averaged a whopping 49.2 yards per punt this preseason, so him winning this punting battle isn’t exactly a surprise. Hopefully, the Bucs will finally have a decent punting game, after years of mediocrity at the position.

TheKanataThrilla (1h) : NFL Network is broadcasting the game tonight, but not in Canada. Not sure why as no local television is showing the game.

beast (21h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round

Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
