In other words Matt Ted Thompson was sitting on his hands again and hoping a player will come play for him. He's been in the league for how long and he don't know what kind of player he is gimmie a break. Lets sign the waterboy already lol. I thought this year was going to be different but once again we are the laughing stock of the league when it comes to free agency. I plain give up on free agency until Tightwad Ted is out of green bay which hopefully is soon.

Breaking: Packers Making Push For Canty

The Green Bay Packers are making a hard push to acquire free agent defensive end Chris Canty, according to sources close to the situation.

The Packers are currently talking to Cantys agent and at the moment, have put more money on the table then the New York Giants.

Yeah Teddy didnt open up the check book

Teddy is NOT cheap

LT keep searching because there was also reports that Ted Thompson never put out an offer. Hell i went on the Canty website and offered him $100 bucks so i guess i could say i made a play for him lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I have know doubt that before the contract with the Giants was reached, Canty's agent called the Packers and asked if you can top this. I say this because that's what a good agent does. Evidently Green Bay wasn't. The one report said that Ted Thompson wasn't happen with the asking price and he could have drew the line right there.

As for the Giants they clearly feel that their defensive line is what will put them over the top.

I think i figured out Ted Thompson he had a plan all the time, This is who Ted Thompson is targeting:

Giants | Robbins may be released

Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Giants may release DT Fred Robbins, according to league sources.

The link I posted came form NFP

Which has shown to be about 99% right,

Then you add in the fact reports where they tried to get him in here even knowing what starting point was for $$

Put those 2 pieces together and I would bet your left nutt they did offer more than the Giants at one point

Missing out on Canty is frustrating and annoying. I wish I knew all the inside details about what happened, but I suppose even if I did it wouldn't change the fact that Canty is not a Packer ... so I won't worry about it anymore.

ok DH listen

NFP was wrong so you owe a leftnutt

How ever Ted and the fo did the right thing

no offer until he came in

"Last night I thought he might sign with the Packers," Blank said. "The problem is I couldn't pin them down on a number. That was a legitimate concern. They had not made an offer before that. So you have to take the bird in the hand.

"It's possible Green Bay would have made an offer that was better or worse or the same. I don't know. It was too risky (too wait)."

Blank said he started out speaking with personnel official Reggie McKenzie and then began discussions with negotiator Russ Ball. But he said the Packers would not commit to a number because they had not done a physical or met with Canty.

Blank said he informed them of the offer he received from the Giants, and if the Packers had given him a competitive offer he might have sent Canty for a visit. He said Canty liked the Packers because of their 3-4 scheme, which he has played in since his college days.

So we now know an offer wasnt made..

BECAUSE they wanted him in for a visit

So who wants a team to make an offerTHEN have the guy come in
