The Green Bay Packers couldn't really re-sign Micah Hyde even though a lot of people think they should have. Well, Ted Thompson is real sorry about that.

No he's not. Ted may be sorry that he couldn't keep Hyde at a bargain basement price but other than that he won't lose sleep over the way it played out.

The fire Ted train would be going full steam ahead right now had Ted gave Hyde that contract. Waaaay overpaid. 30 mill for a guy who specialized in letting guys get open whether he was playing lb, CB or safety. Good riddance. Let's stop talking about this guy

Morgan Burnett is more valuable to us than Hyde. It was a necessary move for a great role player, but a role player nonetheless.

Business is business. I am certain that Micah knows that and holds no grudge. A team can only afford to "pay" about 13 players (I read that somewhere). Hard to justify one of them being a backup.

You said Burnett will be gone next year and I actually wouldn't be surprised. He'll be 29 and have already signed one post-rookie contract deal with the Packers.

If he's let go, I wonder if Damarious Randall is moved to Safety? I think he was projected as Safety coming out of college.

Ultimately, yes, Morgan Burnett > Micah Hyde and not sure it's even really that close.

Randall was projected to saftey because he played Safety in college because of the unique system they ran. That college system wanted your best coverage guy at Safety... in that system the Safety was asked to cover more than the CBs.. and no that system would not work long in the NFL. It was basically 6 man blitz every play.

They possibly could play Randall at FS, but he doesn't have the build to hold up at SS. And Dom likes to interchange the two so much I can't see them moving him. I would like to see Ted grab a 220lb SS, that would give the team an option instead of having to pay Burnett because we don't have a replacement.

Man....I miss the "old days", when players played for the love of the game, and not just for the biggest paycheck. There is NO "loyalty" in today's NFL.
Not with the players, OR the teams.

beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent

Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
