Here’s Rodgers’ insane line when throwing to Nelson over their 10 years together: 470 completions on 705 attempts (66.7 percent) for 6,919 yards (9.8 yards per attempt), 65 touchdowns and nine interceptions, 324 total first downs and a passer rating of 123.9.

The numbers could have been even more impressive had Nelson and Rodgers both avoided a few injuries.

I guess I'm still in shock of losing Nelson. It was sure an amazing run!

And La Canfora is right (below), it will be interesting to see if Graham over Nelson will be a net gain once you factor in chemistry and other personal factors. I still remember Rodgers talking about using a hand signal that they hadn't practiced since four years ago... and Nelson saw it and scored a touchdown on the hand signal adjustment. Not going to be able to do that with Graham.

It’s fair to think Rodgers would have wanted an opportunity to see if the magic with Nelson was still there. Well, he’s not getting it.

“Rodgers is coming back, at this point doesn’t have his new big-time contract yet, and that’s his guy,” La Canfora said. “He wants to have one more ride with his guy – and he is the franchise. The GM (Brian Gutekunst) is a rookie GM who was promoted from within, and a lot of people didn’t think would be willing to rock the boat like this. I don’t even know if Jimmy Graham is better.”

Graham, who turns 32 in November, had 57 catches for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns for Seattle last season.

“They both can catch 5- to 10-yard touchdown passes around the goal line,” La Canfora said of Nelson and Graham. “Neither one runs like he used to. Jimmy Graham was not very impressive at all to me in Seattle other than he started catching touchdowns in the second half. But he wasn’t dynamic, he wasn’t exploding through seam routes, and he wasn’t beating defenses deep. He can still get a jump ball a little bit, but I don’t know, man. When you factor in the human element, I don't know that that’s a net gain for the Packers. I don’t know if Jimmy Graham’s days as a straw that stirs the drink on an offense are here anymore, even with Aaron Rodgers. I wouldn’t have done it, frankly. It’s ballsy and maybe their convictions are right, but I wouldn’t be picking fights with Aaron Rodgers right now.”

I need to make this abundantly clear here. Jimmy Graham is NOT Tony Gonzalez, however, I am hoping that since Tony Gonzalez lasted to his late 30's and was still very productive in a passing offense that hopefully Jimmy Graham can also be productive into his late 30's.

I'm not thrilled with the $10/year, but if he's even 3/4 of what he was with the Saints, it'll be worth it.

Jordy knew exactly what Aaron wanted him to do which was a double move. Fake inside and they go out. He was wide open and the result was a TD.

After 10 years together they had the chemistry down. They usually knew what the other guy was thinking. It's also something Aaron can develop with another receiver too.

Zero2Cool (5h) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (14h) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
