I asked my wife how much gas she had in her pickup Monday morning, as I know that here in Northern Virginia we are supplied by the partially shut down Colonial pipeline. I told her to fill up her truck. Today I woke up and she was gone. She just got back home. She told me she had got up at 1 am to go get gas, but the lines at the gas stations were a mile long or more. 1am. She got back up at 4:30, got in line, "only" waited a couple hours. I asked her why she didn't fill up on Monday. She said she thought I was kidding. Keep in mind I told her about the 73 and 79/80 shortages, odd/even days, etc. etc. on Monday.
It's just like the good old days...the hoarding, altercations, they only had premium...
Me: So how much to fill it?
Wife: I got 35.00 worth.
Me: That wasn't exactly what I asked...
Wife: Well, I normally only get 20.00 worth, so now the needle is past 3/4
Me: What is the plan when that gets low...?
Wife: (Testy, now) Well, YOU SAID that pipeline would be re-opened by the end of the week!
Me: I think I also mentioned the impact of panic buying...
Wife: Well, like I said, I thought you were kind of making stuff up...

I also got rid of an electric riding mower, and I wish the lawn I have now was big enough to use it. They are awesome, like riding a go cart...take under strong advisement if you wind up going riding mower shopping in your future.

I have an electric lawn mower. My lawn is small enough for it. I like it because I don’t have to mess with gas.
As far as electric cars, someday they might be worth it. But now? I only know of one local store that has a place to plug them in.
I remember the gas shortage days. Waiting for a chance to get a few gallons. I hope it doesn’t get like that again.

You hand your phone to the valet, and he takes it to the charging station and brings your phone back to you in the restaurant. The app tells you when it's charged, and how much, etc. You call the valet when done and he brings you your car.
I made the mistake of telling my wife that I had bought the car as a babe magnet, and thar it obviously worked, and that sort of ended my ability to drive it without her in it. I sold it for not much less than I paid for it. Nice car, incredibly fast. The mower was the Ryobi rider, advertised two acres on a charge, he'll, I was getting far more than that...It even had uSB and a slot for your phone. Because it had direct drive motors, you could mow at full speed, about twice as fast as gas.
