The Packers offense scored more then the 49ers offense did.
The Niners defense did their job.
The Packers defense did their job.
The Niners special teams did their job.
The Packers special teams.....uh.......pooped their collective pants.

You're taking a portion of my point and twisting into something nonexistent to my point.

The 49ers weren't the home team. They didn't get the climate they wanted. They didn't have Special Teams issues all season they knew they had to overcome. And on and on.

The Packers offense failed. You cannot convince me otherwise. They had everything how they wanted and needed. They failed. Defense did their part. Special Teams was the same trash as it has been. The offense is what underperformed and failed.

It happens. That's why the NFL is a juggernaut for viewership. Any. Given. Sunday.

Or Saturday in this case lol

Not saying he was the sole reason for the loss. just that he was a surprising dissapointment compared to what is expected. It is not the first time I have felt this way with Rodgers in the playoffs.

All I said was if we had an average ST unit the 13 points the offense put up (I'm adding 3 to our total assuming Crosby makes that FG that was blocked) would have been enough. It wasn't going to be a high scoring affair in those conditions. Just because the ST was garbage all year it was no big deal it reared its ugly head in that game? There is no excuse for us to have had such a dysfunctional mess. I blame MLF for not addressing it until after the damage was done.

As for the OL. I am still pissed off it appears they shuffled things around. Why the hell was Billy Turner at LT? They did the same BS last year vs Buccaneers didn't they?

Couldn't agree more....when you can't run and don't have enough time to pass, it is generally the OLine. Nijman should have started at LT with Turner at RG.

Even more disappointing than not starting them, was the lack of in game adjustments or substitutions or creativity in the running game which likes squarely on the shoulders of LeFleur, Hackett, and Getsy.

To the point of the thread, if Rodgers had an average threat of a running game the probably of winning a title goes up exponentially.

I do believe the offense could have overcome the deficiencies by the Special Teams and failed to do so, yes. Again, 14 points would have been enough. I think we all agree if the Special Teams just DOESN'T SUCK MUTATED MONKEY BALLS, the Packers win easily.

Our OL was dinged up and in my opinion foolishly shuffled (e.g. Turner at LT) and during the game we lost AJ Dillon. We still had Adams, Cobb, Lazard, Jones and others, right? We had a four time MVP who had his second back to back MVP season. That should be enough to put up at least 14 points at home in weather they said they wanted.

Special Teams lost the game for the Packers.
Offense could have won it (needed only 14 to win), but failed to do so.
Defense played great if you go off how many points they gave up.

I created this topic because I wanted thoughts on if we felt Aaron Rodgers could still win playoff games for the Packers. And by win them, I mean, can he be what tilts the game in our favor? Based on the last two losses in the playoffs, I don't think he can be anymore. It doesn't mean I hate Rodgers, it doesn't mean he sucks, it doesn't mean I want him gone.

It means we can't expect Rodgers to be Superman and we have to play smarter football and we have to have a better supporting cast around him. Which brings up the question -- can that be done if he's consuming almost 25% of the salary cap?

BTW, I wanted to thank for you having a respectful back-n-forth without insulting one another. I like this kind of stuff.

Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
