I keep seeing all these articles about whether we need to add this player or this receiver, but do we really need to? I personally think it would hurt the team more than help it. The reason I think this is because we would then have to get rid of one young wide out to make room for a has-been receiver. The reason these guys are still available is that they want too much money or teams don't think they are good enough anymore. I say we roll with 7 wideouts and they are all on the team right now. We run with Watkins, Cobb, Lazard, Watson, Rodgers, Doubs, and Toure. Yes they are young but we are in cap hell the next few years so we need the cheap contracts and If we keep Love these young guys will develop with him at QB and when Rodgers leaves in the next 2 years we won't miss a beat. Watkins and Cobb will be gone and leaves Love with Watson, Rodgers, Doubs and Toure. What does everyone else think?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

It's the unknown that keeps this idea on the front burner. No one knows what the Packer receivers are going to do this season. It is very possible the veterans step up now that Tae is not going to get all the targets. It is possible at least one of the rookies is a solid player. There is also a chance that every single WR falls flat. We simply do not know. All these click bait articles automatically assume they all will fail. They have no proof but that has never stopped them from making these types of comments in the past.

All good posts!
Adding a veteran WR doesn't automatically mean he will be great or even fair.
We need the guys we already have to take charge and be good. Like was said already, maybe with Adams gone the other guys will step up.
And one rookie stepping up would be great.
The door is wide open for the guys to take the reins and be "the guy".
Now the question is, who will do it?

There really isn't a benefit in bringing in another WR at this point. Also, the Packers (Aaron Rodgers) said he likes what he sees in the WR room. There is enough veteran-ship in there to guide the rookies.

That being said, if we inked someone like Julio Jones on a flier contract, I wouldn't be upset. Reports are that Jones learned a lot with Titans about how he needs to heal properly and also discovered the importance of practicing. Before you blast him on that, keep in mind the guy has been a physical freak and probably skated by on that alone. He's wiser now.

Also it's not like brining back James Jones or Randall Cobb who had chemistry with Rodgers, it would take them a year or 2 and then its a wasted player as these guys could be the same cheap prospects. Its a horse a piece I guess they will do whatever Lord Rodgers says.

Of course these veterans who are still looking for work might take a pay cut. They have to see the writing on the wall that nobody is gonna pay them big bucks so if they really want to play they will have to swallow their pride. If the price is right I am not opposed to bringing in a Julio to see what he has left. We can always cut him later so it is no skin off our noses.

I think the receiving corps will be just fine. I'm not expecting too much from Cobb but Lazard, Watkins and our #1 pick should be ok. I think Doubs will be better than most people think and whenever Tonyan returns, he will make a big impact. Plus Jones and Dillon out of the backfield are a sure thing.

I don't understand why so few are expecting much from Cobb. He might not be "great", but when called on he comes through. He made some great plays when needed.
And with Adams gone, he will be called on even more.
