If the trade is not consummated before the draft, then we don't get a first rounder before the draft.  So then if a trade is completed after the draft and if we got the Jets number 1 pick in 2024, the value of that 1st rounder will likely be lower.

If we hold him until after camp, he could simply retire or show back up.  If he retires, aren't we on the hook for alot of money and dead cap? If he is not in Jets' camp, he is worth less to them....and them may just tell him to retire, then un-retire next year.

Perhaps I don't understand Rodgers options in the retire/un-retire scenario, but it would seem a very expensive option in the Jets come up with a plan B and he shows up for the money.

ADDITIONAL RANDOM THOUGHT
Is it possible that they have the compensation worked out but simply aren't going to execute the trade simply to mess with the other teams in the league in regard to draft scenarios

I think the Jets have showed their hand to much and all the pressure is on them to make it happen. I am thinking their 1st and one of the receivers Moore or Davis.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The Packers will not cut Aaron Rodgers, period. Some posters at Jets sites think they will cut him.
That will not happen. He will be assigned to  clear snow or clean the restrooms in Lambeau before his getting cut would ever enter the conversation.

The whole media world seems to wonder about what the Packers and Jets should do based on the relative commitment of Aaron Rodgers, and his value as a result. How about pressing Aaron Rodgers as regards his level of commitment. 60 million. He's worth less than half of that going forward, by any reasonable criteria, knows that, yet has it and no one in this whole  conundrum is calling him out on it. The man already admitted that the whole paying him this kind of money was essentially untenable for the Packers, before he went into his dark hole whatever. Stand firm, Green Bay.

If the Jets deal falls through and Rodgers insists on playing, I think the Packers would trade him to some other team, even if it meant getting very little in return, or even having to give up a draft pick to get another team to take on his contract. I view this scenario as unlikely, but much more likely than Rodgers being cut. If that happens, they'll need to start cutting core players just to get under the cap.

Yes, cutting Rodgers would be worse case scenario.

Trading him to Raiders, Panthers, Colts, Lions or even Bears would be better ...

Heck, if Jets don't want him, maybe we can even offer Rodgers to the Patriots or Dolphins (whom are going all in), and we can get a comp picks with the Dolphins where if they make the playoffs we get a 2024 2nd, AFC Championship we get a 2024 1st and if they win the Superbowl we get two 1sts.

Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
