6. Also mentioned by Mr Beast, people who are complaining about Morgan playing RG are also some of the same people who said his arms are too short to play T. I liked how Bak laughed at that comment and reminded everyone that they said that about him too.

As far as arm length goes, I think the stat by itself is extremely overrated, that being said, I do believe there are minimums to it.

Somewhere along the lines, someone decided that 35 inch arm length was the ideal prototype for OTs, and especially LTs.

But shorter arms can work just fine if you're athletic, can reload your arms quickly. But I do think there are limits, like under 32 inches might be out of the question.

But yes, some fans have hung on the strange idea, if someone doesn't have 35 inches arm, they can't be a starting NFL OT.

Bakhtiari has 34 inch arm length, and was said he had too small of length.

Tom has 33¼ inch arms. (Though I can't find it right now, I think his wingspan is equal to Bakhtiari which means Tom is wider)

Morgan is 32⅞ inch arms.

That being said, Colts LT Bernhard Raimann also has a similar length and he's been playing well so far.

The lowest arm length of any long term starting OT in the NFL (at least of recent decades) has been Mark Tauscher at 32¼ inches.

So if you're under 32 inch arms, I don't think it'll work out, and under 33 is unlikely, but clearly there are some exceptions to the rule.

But the idea that they should or have to be 35 inches should absolutely be broken by former Browns Joe Thomas, whom was consistently All-Pro and had arm length of 33¾ inch.

But while people said Bakhtiari arms were short, they in reality were just shorter than prototype, and not actually that short, where Morgan's arms are much closer near the bare minimum range. But not yet to the bare minimum.

Sounds like Morgan is going to miss at least a week with a shoulder injury.

Too bad that Morgan was injured. Hopefully he makes a full recovery soon. The O Line is getting rocked with injuries this week.

I've been thinking about the comments Sayre Bedinger made in the original article. I wonder if he would consider Morgan a bust or as he called it, "a haunting pick" if Morgan ended a 15 year career only playing RG and was subsequently voted into the Pro Hall of Fame.
What if it was only the Packers Hall of Fame?
Where would the magic line be drawn? 3 or 4 All Pro selections? No All Pro but a few Pro Bowl selections?

His criticism is so arbitrary and premature.

So if our incumbent LT can play at top 5-10 level and our RG needs improvement, what's the issue? Should the Packers have smacked G on his draft card to make it better? How many LB's or DE's have we drafted and flipped them? OR CB's to S and vice versa.

i dunno. I just feel it's common that players get drafted on projection of what they can be. And in the NFL they sometimes feel that is a position change.
