Even if he's a complete jackass as a person, I'm still going to listen to his words. Why? Because the man loves football. Granted, I wouldn't be inviting him over to my anti-zombie compound any time soon.

I think everybody in the stadium was shocked; I wasn't.

I wasn't either. I was voraciously defending AR all preseason. I heard it all from Niner fans who were trying to rationalize in their heads that they didn't get AR (they got Alex Smith instead for those who don't follow the Niners). I heard every insult in the book directed at AR . The only thing I didn't know about AR was just how fast he was scrambling.

I knew he could make those 50+ yard throws with minimal effort. He's got a gun, and he shoots straight.

Edgar Bennett on the other hand was GREAT.

Edgar is a class individual, I have met him several times back in the early 90's, very nice guy. He enjoys a good laugh, he would come into my office and tell a joke most of the time when he came in. Add to it he went to FSU..

I also have met LeRoy on several occasions as well, albeit in the early to mid 90's and I didn't see the same type of behavior that others here did. I seen a guy that had an ego, but seemed like a pretty decent fellow. Apparently times have changed.

For those that don't know, i'll tell the story of my time with him. It was just after the players got their SB 31 rings. Edgar Bennett was doing a appearance at our local Piggly Wiggly store. I asked Edgar to hold up his ring so i could get a picture of it, which he did. Butler was out in his SUV in the parking lot, waiting for Bennett to come out so they could go to an autograph signing in Milwaukee. NO ONE was out by his SUV, so i went up to it and asked "Mr. Butler, could you please hold your ring up so i could get a close up picture of it?" I was only 2 feet away from him. He totally ignored me, even though there was no one else there that would have bothered him. Bennett was coming out of the store, and i wanted to get a close up pic of him. He was getting in the passenger door, and i was walking quickly around the front of the SUV. Butler FLOORED it and had i not jumped out of the way, he would have hit me. Yes, it was that close to running me down. He never even cared if he would have hit me. Now i wish i would have let him. Maybe he would have learned to treat people/fans decently. I lost ALL respect for him as a person that day. Yes, he knows football, but all i have seen was a HUGE ego.

Nah, you're glad you didn't get hit. I don't think any injury is worthy any amount of cash. I mean, if it happens, it happens, but I don't think anyone truly wants that. I am most likely wrong on that lol.

Regarding Edgar Bennet ... I used to be a huge card collecting nut. You know, before it was the cool thing to create a card company? Yeah, back then. Anyhow, Dexter McNabb and Bennet came into Card Coin Corner. Dexter was a complete ass, but Bennet was pretty nice and polite. Dexter kind of gave the impression he was a superstar because he was in the NFL.

Anyone even remember guy now? lol

I'm STILL a card collector. I've got a pretty neat collection. I have a card with a hunk of Brett Favre's game used helmet in it. It's part of the "G".Last year i pulled a Will Blackmon autographed card out of Topps Chrome.

I'd like to get back into it, but gosh, 8 bucks for 12 cards now? That's insane. I remember getting my money from my paper route when I was 12 and spending half it on cards. I have a fairly nice collection, but no real 'ringers'. My dad bought a pack of Score '90 and he ended up with Troy Aikman, Barry Sanders and Deion Sanders he got some other guy too, but I fail to remember his name.

He has a Dan Marino rookie card too.

Collecting cards just seems so bleh now to me. I remember when looking up a card was simple. Now when you page through your Beckett (which is like a phone book!) you have to search through something like two dozen different card manufactures. I still have some Becketts with Shaq, Jordan and some the ones from the 90's.

I pulled a Shaq autograhp 2 years ago, and i pulled a A-Rod (the baseball player) auto too.
I have pulled autos of Dorsey Levens and Antonio Freeman too.
And an auto of Emmitt Smith. One of my rarest pulls was a autograped "Super Tix" (it has an actual ticket stub from the Super Bowl) signed by Tom Brady. I have Favre's rookie from Stadium Club, Pro Set, Fleer Ultra, Pacific, and others. I have Favre's 2nd year Stadium Club card, graded by Beckett at 8.5. My wife got that for me several years ago on Ebay for my birthday.
In baseball, i have a gamed used bat card with pieces of bat from Reggie Jackson, Eddie Mathews, Frank Robinson and Babe Ruth. There were only 25 of those made, and i pulled it from a pack at WalMart.

If you had a Barry Sanders autograph, I'd drive down there right now to get it. I have a picture that has a Barry Sanders signature on it, but I don't know if its real. I used to write the Detroit Lions when I was younger and send them things to have Barry sign. I'd get my items back, and then one of those 8x10 deals with a signature of Barry Sanders on it.

I'd like to meet him in person and have him sign the rookie cards I have of his. Some say that is stupid to do without a certificate, but I don't collect cards for money. I would know it was his and that's all that would matter.
