Chillar has been the Packers' best linebacker since he got here - he's the best in coverage and quite possibly the best blitzer. He needs to start in my opinion, Thompson/McCarthy are just worried about the backlash if they bench the #5 overall pick A.J. Hawk.

It won't be Hawk getting benched. Barnett can take all year to heal as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully someone ponies up a 2nd or 3rd for him.

If Hawk continues to play like last night.. I agree he will see his share of snaps.

Personally, I think the Packers are trying to garner some interest in the trade market for one of these interior backers..

What is sick.. is that the defense didn't even get to put Bishop in.. that is just crazy depth inside.

Jacksonvilled drafted 2 OT's and still have a pretty good one. They would make a good trading partner. Besides they still owe us for giving away Brunell.

We don't need to trade Barnett. Our LB depth is what you need when you run a 3-4. Barnett is a great player, in fact he's our fastest LBer. Why would you want another 2nd or 3rd rounder who would most likely never be as good as Barnett??? Draft picks are overrated (see Oakland/Randy Moss)

I just don't like the guy. He talks the talk and when it's time to walk the walk, he blows the tackle and gives up the first down. Also, I think he is too light in the pants to blow up plays.

Chillar did a very good work, but i was surprised to see him starting, i thought Poppinga won that spot, nevertheless he did a fine job on the run and pass defense and getting the pressure to the Cutler.

Eh....another waste of flesh in the Ted Thompson free agent cannon!

Ummmmmm...sarcasm.

We look pretty friggin incredible on defense, especially the LB play. Should be fun to watch as this unit comes together with more games under their belts. Do you figure Kevin Greene's influence on this group has been a positive one??

That man has me jumping around and tackling my pillow. I can't imagine what kind of effect he has on the players with his endless enthusiasm.

Very happy with Chillar. He's really showing some hidden talents. That's what you get when you sign a player from a vanilla defense like the Rams' was. He's been one of the better blitzers, so far. Liked him even in pre-season.

Anyone see a still photo of his leap over Wolfe?
