Huge difference maker in my opinion. Bigby is not a Pro Bowl player but is sure a hell of a lot better than whoever is replacing him.

He's only played in the Bears and Lions game and so far, I've only seen him when he's making good plays. No Al Harris yelling at him, no blown coverage. This guy has been hurt too often the past couple of seasons.

He might be a top 5 player of importance for the Packers to stay healthy just for the sheer drop-off in talent after him.

I agree. His impact is very underrated. Well, maybe it was. Now we know how much of an asset he really is. I noticed him all over the field around the ball. I hope hes back for good this season.

Does he help, absolutely.

Did he make a great play for a safety to preserve the shutout.. hell yes.

But I attribute more impact to the increase in pressure on Sunday than Bigby on the field.. hopefully we keep the pressure up.

Ah, but the pressure thing works both ways. Capers himself said he had to be more conservative on the blitzing with the safety situation as it was, as soon as Bigby got back, he started blitzing like crazy again.

Yes! It sure was nice having Bigby back. He's not a great player, but he's fundamentally sound, for the most part. Rouse was horrible, and Martin obviously was not ready yet.

With Harris and Woodson holding down the CB spots, there should be more opportunities for big plays for Collins and Bigby.

I would suggest that Bigby's return allowed Capers to dial up more pressure, as he was less concerned about trying to cover for shaky play @ that back line.

Say what you want about Bigby's deficiencies (I know you weren't - figure of speech), but I think he's crucial for our D.

Thank you indeed.. you can slice it both ways. Nice job Fin. +1

What is the best way to cover a weakness in a secondary? Pressure.

So what comes first?

Btw.. I throw a penalty flag on Capers and or MM on the excuse of depth..

They might have wanted to think about that when making final roster decisions eh. 😉

Yeah, it really does seem like when Bigby plays, our Defense plays much better. Like a couple other people said above me, i'm sure Capers is very hesitant bringing the heat with Derrick Martin, Giordano, or Aaron Rouse(when he was in his place) back there. The Defensive gameplan we drew up against Favre was not very good IMO, very little pressure and we barely even mixed up our looks, it was a pretty basic gameplan. We did a great job against AP but we had no answer for Favre, the key to stopping Favre is bringing the heat and I hope we do that when we see them again in less than 2 weeks.

I said thank you cuz I've been saying that for quite awhile now and it seemed to be falling on deaf ears. It's not Capers fault we don't have any talent after our starters at Safety. I think that falls more on Ted and Mike.
