Dakota - To be fair to Wallie, EVERYONE knew on every play it would be a run. They completely stacked it against him. Bear QBs were horrible for his entire career until the last few years when McMahon came along and actually completed passes.

So of course he'd fumble. He had 5 guys on him constantly.

I grew up watching Payton and the only RB I can compare him to was Barry. I don't think anyone else was close, and that even includes Emmitt Smith, the guy with all the records.

Now an argument can be made that Jim Brown was better but that was before my time. What's interesting though is if I remember correctly, Brown says that AP could be the next Wallie.

Remains to be seen.

If i was Childress i would make AP carry a football every minute he is on the Vikings training grounds...showers..meals..team meetings...watching film...practice... Then i would fine him a hundred bucks everytime another team mate could knock the ball out of his hands...Apon the fumble being recorded the player causing the fumble would recieve the hundred dollar fine.

I'd take Peterson over any Packer RB, with or without the fumbles. A guy like that makes your running game, OL and passing game better out of fear of his talent.

I tend to lean towards that. But it's still kind of worrisome.. Especially now we are in the home stretch and teams are going to exploit his 'fumblitis'.

I swear, if his fumbling costs the Favre his last shot at a Superbowl, I will pick up my TV and throw it.

How ironic would that be.

Everyone says it'll be Favre that'll throw a handful of picks to cash in another bigtime let down for the Vikings.. And it ends up being AP fumbling it away instead. LOL

The irony is you saying "everyone" after you jumped my booty in the other thread for doing something similar. And this is not in The Back Alley. :)

I would like you to read the forums better before making such statements. There's quite a few who felt that Favre would do well as he's not the one pressured to carry the team. He just happens to be doing it from time to time.

Perfect Practice Makes Perfect.

I have read of this type of exercise before and it works.

The only thing I would not do is award the player who knocked the ball out of his hands AP's $100 Make it a donation to the Childrens Hospital, or put it into a team steak dinner fund..... For all of the team building reasons.

Anyhow, I don't think Peterson's fumbles are that much of a problem. He scores what two touchdowns for every fumble lost?
