Who to root for? Very simple. The Packers.

Except your Packers dug a little hole. Now not only they must dig themselves out of it, but they'll most likely need help from other teams. So, root for the teams that'll help your Packers get in. (Kinda like the Cards beating the Vikes in '03.. Yes, you needed help that year.)

Not to mention, it'll give you something to cheer for this Sunday. I know how long Sundays are when your favorite team isn't playing, so it's not a bad thing to have some sort of emotional interest in another teams loss.

=) <===That means I'm just pointing something out, not arguing with your statement.

Formo, I'm one of the few who know we needed help to get into the playoffs the final years of Sherman. It's other who only see the end result, playoff and don't understand how lucky we got to even get in there. Declining talent + luck + weak division = playoff.

Hey the Giants play the Eagles next week.

The Packers are still ahead of the Giants even if the Giants beat the Cowboys.

A Giants sweep of the Cowboys today hurts the Cowboys divisional and Conference record as well.

For today, Go Giants, Eagles, and Cardinals.

So far the day is panning out great.

Falcons get hammered and fall behind big time in the WC race.

The Cowboys are 10-0 up.

If Cowboys finish the job then we're well set.

It would mean if we beat the Ravens we have a big cushion for the WC, and if we lose we'd still have a cushion.

(Also Saints win to keep the #1 seed away from Minnesota)

Interestingly, we stand a chance to play Arizona IN Arizona TWO weeks in a row. If we end up the sixth seed and Arizona ends up the fourth seed we will indeed be visiting Tempe in successive weeks. Pretty crazy scenario, but not all that unlikely.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I'm thinking that we should go for the Vikings over Cardinals, so that the 49ers have the better chance to win the NFC West. If the Cardinals lose and the Niners win, then if the 49ers beat the Cardinals next week they are on top of the NFC West.

I believe it would be easier to beat San Fran than it would to beat Arizona. Just my opinion.

I think that no matter who wins the Giants / Cowboys game, it will help us. If the Cowboys win, that will get the Giants off our backs. If the Giants win and we win, then your scenario will be great.

I'm not too fussed who wins the West. Right now it feels like the Cards are better, but if they falter and the 49ers start playing well enough to get the top spot they wont look like such a push over.

Whoever wins the West will have deserved it.

What I dont want is the Vikings to have homefield advantage in the NFC title game, should they get there. So a Vikes loss is fine by me.

I want the Cardinals to win tonight and win the division, I would like for the Packers to play a Cardinals team that has nothing to play for week 17.

We don't need help. We just need to win our last 5 games.

Well, you'd be in the hunt. but if the other WC teams win out that can.. I don't know if you guys would be in the playoffs. Although, I haven't looked at the other teams schedules, so I'm not sure if they can all win out along with you guys (if they match up against each other from here on out).

No, if we win the next 5, no one can overtake us. We'd be 12-4. The only other team that's in the WC hunt that could match that record would be the Eagles.

That said, I don't think that we'll win the last 5 games, but with the Falcons throwing one away and the Giants still up against the Cowboys, Eagles (big one for us), Redskins, Panthers and Vikings, I'm pretty confident that 10 wins would get us in. And that's pretty much what I'm expecting from this team, as well. 10 wins.

Go Cowboys.
