When you're an ignorant, unthinking shit about something, and the other guy is an ignorant, unthinking shit about something, which one of you are you going to criticize? Yourself? Or the other guy?

I like both Western Europeans and Americans. For lots of reasons. But I'm not going to talk to most of them about politics much because, when it comes to politics, most of both are, well, ignorant shits of little understanding.

It's one of the problems with majoritarianism (to which people on both sides of the Atlantic have been long addicted). Everyone feels entitled to express opinions; few feel responsible to think in any depth before having one.

(p.s. None of the above should be taken personal by individual PH members. If I didn't believe you to be exceptions, I would have stayed quiet.)

i didnt read all the topic but i try to give my opinion...it is impossible compare US and Europe because they are completely different...u cant even compare german to italy because are tto differnt as u cant compare wisconsin and california (they look like 2 different countries). i am one who think every part of the world has ups and downs...bu let me tell this: sometimes americans thinks that the world is USA but there is a lot of different aspects in all the world. i am italian and i am gonna married a girl from LA (her parent are mexican) so i was for awhile over there and that is the reason why u cant compare europe to Us because wisconsin and california dont look like the same country.

i just think that everyone has to respect the other people but this is utopistic.
