My thoughts are that you need to take a deep breath.

inspite of running ineptitude, the play action was working just fine

if not for a taush phantom holding penalty the team scores 24 points against a great D, which should be enough to win.

Many penalties were mental errors that are the PLAYER'S own fault

Some ill-timed fishy calls by the refs.

Bulaga fell down on blocked FG

Dropped pic late in game

...i could keep going, point being that lots of small straws broke the team's back, many of which can not be attributed to Mike McCarthy

Ummm, mental errors are the coach's fault dude. He gets paid to make sure that shit don't happen. That's one of the most important reasons why he's there. Penalties are always committed by players and almost never by the coach, and when there's 1 or 2 that's part of the game, but when there are 17 that's an indicator that there is a lack of discipline on the team. Instilling discipline is what MM gets paid to do and last night showed me that he didn't earn his paycheck last week. This was a coaching loss, pure and simple.

No, I don't play a lot of Madden, nor am I asserting that I know anything about NFL offenses. McCathy has designed very good schemes and play designs. In my opinion his play selection, particularly in opening drives, his play calling is at times foolish and seems to bring the overall tempo of the team down. With a quality running back this is not nearly as important, but without a run game his shortcomings become more evident.

I wasn't trying to start up the anti-McCarthy bandwageon, just merely trying to see if others shared the same concern. Clearly many others feel that concern is unwarrented. evad04 I have very little interest in what a self-righteous, arrogant, prick, like yourself, has to say about any of the posts I leave on this board.

I do not care much for personal attacks. Outside looking in I am puzzled at time with the play calling, but I acknowledge I understand very little about the matter.

Mike McCarthy's playcalling wasn't the problem in this game.

If anything, Mike McCarthy needs to be screaming at everyone for the penalties. I lost count, but how many Cutler INTs were called back by penalties? How many plays were ruined by penalties?

He did make a stupid call on the red flag though.

One thing that I'll say that will be controversial is when da Bears had almost 2 minutes left, I was seriously thinking of letting them have a TD so we can go back and score and put the game into OT. Heck, I could kick a 20 yard field goal. You knew their kicker would make that one.

I was thinking percentages. I trust Aaron to lead a TD drive (as long as Tauscher doesn't hold every time we get a first down) more than us blocking a 20-yard field goal.

OK, enough. For those of you dipshits who don't understand, THE COACH is directly responsible for penalties, even if he isn't on the field in pads committing them. It's an indicator of a lack of discipline in the team, and who is responsible for that?

Your kidding me right he is not a very bad play caller it was the players dont blame the coach everytime.Mike McCarthy is not the reason we lost it was are oline and penalties.Stop blaming it on him all the time its a team game we lost because the whole team didnt play well.

Jesus Christ. You people just don't get it. You keep blaming the players when you don't hold their leader to task. Yes, the team lost, but what could the coach have done prior? 17 fucking penalties? The worst since we lost to the "Boston Yanks" back when God was a Lance Corporal. I'll hold the individuals responsible for the individual penalties, but as a whole, this falls back on MM.

I must continue to resist, for I am the only one left of my kind...
