Although he is a straight up man-coverage player, the Vikings will be too desperate to even realize this and will snatch him up by the end of today, furthermore extending Chilly's stay, only until Harris lets up the first TD from blown coverage, and the fans start throwing bricks.
Mark it, Dude.

I don't think Harris will get claimed off waivers, but he will sign somewhere once he clears them. I would love if he signed somewhere outside of the division, but it's hard to think if someone like Minnesota would come calling who badly needs the secondary help, that he wouldn't consider signing there.

Harris will fit in just great in Minnesota's scheme.

Damn. Didn't see this coming. It can't be an injury thing - else they couldn't cut him, right?

I'm thinking the Packers told him he'd be the nickel (or dime) CB when he came back and Al decided he'd rather try for a starting job elsewhere.

I do agree that he'll be a Viking before the 21st...

Did Harris take a crap in your cereal bowl or something? Let's pick on him? He's not some douchebag that we never really liked and want to make him look bad. More than anything, we should just hope that he doesn't go to the Vikings. Not because we don't want to play against him, but because we don't EVER want our kind to become a Viking.

Shame on you.

Sam Shields' growth as a rookie CB probably has something to do with this. Shields is the season's biggest and best surprise for the Packers so far. He plays like a veteran.

Why am I the only one who's happy to see him go? I never thought he'd step foot on the field this year (do a search of my posts -- I've been saying this the entire offseason), and the last thing I wanted was for him to take up a valuable roster spot. Maybe the Packers can bring him in for a look next year, after he's a year and a half removed from one of the most severe injuries this league has ever seen. I see no way he would have made it through the entire season without reaggravating that knee.

I highly doubt any other team will pick him up, but if one does, I'm willing to bet a week's wages he never starts.

You're not alone NON, I'm a heartless prick just like you. This is a problem with Packer fans, always reaching for Nostalgia. Al's way to old to make a comeback from that injury. He made a great effort and we supported him end of story. Shields has made him expendable as Bulaga has made Tauscher expendable.

We have a place to honor Al and Tausch, it's called the Packer Hall of Fame.

agreed peterlan...why 'hate on' harris? He's been loyal to the team worked hard, and thus far has handled himself with dignity when if any of us were in his shoes, likely would have been inclined to take a cheap shot at the organization.

Sadly it appears that it was a move that had to be made, but there's no need for Schadenfreude

we should of kept him for loyalty reasons.

So let me get this straight. We should field a less-than-optimal team, risk losing games, out of a misguided sense of loyalty? That makes no sense to me.

Hmmmmmm. Hyperbole?

Not in the least. Do some reading on his injury. It was horrific.
