Yes, but who is/was out there?

That gives me an idea. Now that the UFL season is over there's a bunch of backs readily available. Many of them are former NFL castoffs, but may be worth a look. They should be in great playing shape.

Jackson is capable if the o line is doing it's job. The o line was pretty shitty today.

Grant went out week 1 and everyone thought BJ and Kuhn was the answer. It was discussed on here numerous time and people thought BJ was the man, now come down to the grind of the season and bad weather and look who is not producing??????? Ted Thompson had plenty of opportunity to get something done after week 1 and didn't, it's called being cheap. Hopefully we can get into the playoffs, but with no running game, look to next year maybe.

Turner wore or defense down and opened it up for Ryan, that is what a good back does.

B-Jack left some runs out there, but I put most of the onus on the o-line. When Jackson is getting hit two to three yards in the backfield what can you really say?

"evad04" wrote:

Yes. +1.

The O-line was horrible in the running game... And Jackson just added to that by some bad decisions.

Now, I don't know if Jackson will be the answer at any point. I'm not saying that he'll be. I do know that he can do better than what we saw today.

I also know that this offense was pretty good without a running game. The short passing game took over completely for that horrible running game. Take that one flukey fumble away and we put up 24 on Atlanta... That's pretty darn good.

Not perfect, I'd love some more balance, but still, I like the playcalling this game.

Well to be honest, that fumble in the end zone was the back breaker. That wasn't on Bjack. I've been talking up Bjack this entire time, but at this point, I sure wouldn't mind seeing what Starks can do.

I loathe these types of posts. Please tell me who the Packers could/should have picked up, and how.

Honestly, I don't think we NEED a game changing RB. We've gotten this far without one....

Sure, Michael Turner had a huge game, but they didn't run away with the game. We had a great chance to win if it weren't for our terrible special teams. That being said, a good passing offense is MUCH more valuable than a good running offense.

Don't panic!

Jackson is the offensive version of AJ Hawk. No one else has so many skills and tries so hard to get so little production.
Maybe that's why they like him so much. He's a microcosm of Mike McCarthy's teams.

"nerdmann" wrote:

And here comes the hate on McCarthy. You just love it when we lose so you can complain about him, don't you?

Oh, and in case you didn't know, AJ Hawk is leading our team in tackles. He's having a great season.

I wish Edgar Bennett would just tell Jackson to just run forward, get those feet moving first, then read the play. I believe I noticed at least three times when Jackson received the ball his feet didn't move for moments. This isn't the Big 12 North and the Cyclones defense you are used to playing against Brandon. Everyone in the NFL is fast. Go go go go!!

I knew this thread was coming, especially with Brian Billick, the king of the coachspeak announcers, calling the game. He was harping on the difference in the running games all day long, and yet, with less than one minute left, the score was tied, and that was with the Packers having committed the game's only turnover--a fumble at the Falcons' one yard line.

So the lesson we get from this is that the Falcons won the game because they have a better running game? Give me a break. This is not the 1970s, folks. The pass-happy Packers moved the ball more effectively today then the Falcons did. The Falcons won because they made a couple of big plays and the Packers kickoff coverage team made the big mistake.
