Rodgers did everything he could to win this game, unless he wants to suit up on coverage teams and effectively break up a lane.

Throwing exclusively late in the game yesterday bit us with leaving too much time on the clock.. but that isn't of Aaron's doing.

That final Packer drive was big time from Rodgers.. absolutely big time.

Why? Because those actually worked?

The drives where we went 70/30 pass/run were the ones we actually got somewhere with. The drives where we tried to establish a running game, we went for a yard, lost another two and got into 3rd and long situations.

When we "gave up" on the run, the running game started opening up. We're not a team that pounds the ball when Grant is out. With B-Jax, we should run it Patriots style. As soon as we started passing and calling some draws to slow down the pass rush, we started getting some yardage on the ground.

And I know that the whole "teeing off on the QB" aspect will come back, but how much did that really bother us this game? On those 5 receiver sets, every single time they brought an extra blitzer, we picked up about 5 yards, getting it to the hot receiver.

Can't blame the defense, either. Check Matt Ryan's statline. Check Turner's stats. Check the safety play. We were playing bend but don't break to the extreme all day long.

And we did a damn good job.

Take out our mishaps on STs and we give up 17 points to one of the most potent offensen in the NFL. That's nothing to be ashamed off.

Well said, Rock. I know it was mentioned a lot but in the 60s, everyone knew we'd run the Packer sweep and nobody could stop us.

Well, let's look at our roster. Do have a Forrest Gregg? No. A Fuzzy Thurston? No. A Jim Taylor? No. A Paul Horning? No.

What do we have then? A Greg Jennings? Check. A James Jones? Check. An Aaron Rodgers? Check. A Chad Clifton (who is a solid pass blocker)? Check.

Well, maybe it's because we were designed to be a passing team.

Just maybe. What do I know? I'm just a fan. But if you can read MM's mind, he tells the media balance when he knows he built this team as a passing team. Is it any coincidence that we have so many good receivers (both WRs and TEs) but only one good RB?

Looking forward to the day when everyone knows we're going to pass the ball but nobody can stop us. That's what 2010 was supposed to be. That's what MM wants. Balance is just something you tell the media people because they're morons anyways and they're made to be lied to.

Pack - I'm just talking about what MM says to the media. MM and Ted Thompson are notorious for saying a bunch of words with absolutely no meaning.

LOL.. it wasn't meant as anything other than I disagree that you have to maintain a level of balance to become a consistent football team. Nothing more..

But Rodgers played a damn near perfect game.. we tapped him out for everything we could.

But good solid football teams that don't make a ton of mistakes, like the Falcons, we need to take full advantage of situations.. and when we can't run the ball.. it limits our abilities.

Such as running the ball here and there late, milking more time off the clock in the end and not giving them time to work with. Throwing the ball and having incompletes here and there stop the clock.. clock they utilized to beat us. That and special teams.

Rodgers took what was in front of him and maximized it.. what a great QB does.. sometimes the other teams make enough plays to beat you as a team. That was yesterday.. Aaron deserves little blame in this game.

We're not beating anyone in the playoffs with our running game. Kinda hard to throw when opposing defenses are dropping 7 or 8 into coverage on every down because they know we can't run.

I wanted to scream every time I saw that goddamn 5-WR set on 3rd (or 4th) and 1.

I've got no problem passing to set up the run. No problem at all.

But that's not what we're doing - we're passing because we can't run. And everyone knows it. And from here on out, everyone's going to exploit it.

If Rodgers was any less talented than he is, we'd be 4-7 or worse now...
