Look. The Packers love Flynn. I like him a ton.

But he is a kid who had thrown 20 passes in his NFL Career when he took the field in a game that just might have been the difference between playoffs and no playoffs, or one whole year in reality.

I am confident that if Rodgers slid he would have come out after the half and won this game going away.

I also think that a veteran QB would have had a better shot at scoring one TD to win this game.

Was it a mistake for Ted and Mike to not have had a Vet to come in at least this year? Next year Flynn may be ready to be a legit Back Up.

But this year... It might have been the safe play to have a seasoned Vet.

I really don't see how a VET could have made that big of a difference. We see Aaron Rodgers overthrow receivers just like Flynn did on the last play. Flynn's big mistake was the int in the end zone, something we aren't used to, but something that happens even to veterans.

I think Flynn is a sufficient back up for our team.

I don't get the "veteran" back up obession. Whether it's a veteran is irrelevant, all that matters is whether its a GOOD back up. Veteran does not mean good, usually it means already got a shot but couldn't cut it.

You can apply that adage to backups too. Backups already had a shot but couldn't cut it.

The only reason why Flynn is serviceable here in Green Bay is because we don't sign anybody for him to compete with. McCarthy is insistent upon bringing in young pups to learn from him rather than bringing in the best guys possible to push each other.

Favre was successful during his first half decade because he always had someone breathing down his neck while Holmgren watched him scared. (Mark Brunell... Ty Detmer, some apologists might even throw Matt Hasselbeck in that mess).

Rodgers deserves all the grooming he's gotten from the organization, and I know that nobody can compete with him at quarterback, but there's no reason why our backup can't be somebody who's been in the league and seen a few things Rodgers hasn't.

Make fun of those guys all you want, but I'd take Jon Kitna, Shaun Hill, Chad Pennington, or J.P. Losman over Matt Flynn any day.

I've often wished we could have brought in Jon Kitna as our backup. Watching the Cowboys last night accentuated this desire.

I thought Flynn was fine. He was able to put points on the board, something that Rodgers wasn't able to do. Obviously he missed some things but I would expect if he had gotten the practice/playing time that Rodgers has had this season he would have made those plays. (Please don't take this comment that I think he is as good as Arod. Just sayin' that I think he did okay yesterday).

Don't blame Flynn, it was the OLine that lost the game for the Packers yesterday.

Flynn outplayed Rodgers yesterday. WTF could a seasoned back up do that neither AR or Flynn could not behind that godawful excuse of an O-line. Bottom line, Campen and the ZBS have to be gone next year. I like MM, but if he does not address the issue of our lack of consistent run production....the line.....in the offseason, I believe it is time to seriously question his decision making.

Dear Lord, RP....nobody could perform behind the line that played yesterday!

Flynn outplayed Rodgers yesterday.

I hope you are kidding. Rodgers was 7 for 11, and that included a perfect strike on a would-be TD that the receiver batted into the hands of a defender for an interception. Flynn was 15 of 26 and was off-target much of the time, especially on deep balls, plus he threw a horrendous interception in the end zone.
