They played to contain. If they blitz, they risk giving up the big play, which Philadelphia strives to do. If they play to contain, then they're forcing the Eagles to drive down the field. I thought it was a little passive for my liking. The Eagles adjusted in the second half, with the underneath routes over the middle, but they won. They knew Vick would have trouble beating them with his arm. He did. It never looked exactly like the Eagles were comfortable and play calling never looked like it was in rhythm. I trust Dom Capers more than I trust even my own instincts and he proved himself right again.

That's a really good take. My only big problem was with those stretches where the lack of blitz became too predictable. I thought they would slowly ramp up the pressure as the game went on, but I didn't see much change. Maybe it was just that the blitzes, for the most part, were not getting home. It was quite a match of wits between one of the game's best offensive minds and one of the game's best defensive minds. A well-played game in a lot of ways, as evidenced by the low number of penalties.

Bishop playing coverage in the last drive for the Birds.. deep coverage and bringing Jackson down may have saved the game for the Packers.. lots of open space ahead.

I thought the defense was going to choke on that last drive like they have in some many other games in the past couple of years. I was pleasantly surprised when they kept their composure and finished the job.

Well done fellas.

Do you realize that if the Packers beat the Falcons and the Seahawks beat the Bears, the Packers will play three teams with bird names on the way to the Super Bowl? And they lost to the Cardinals last year. Interesting. Well, maybe not....
