Ok, we all know the Steelers were handed the Superbowl they played against the Seahawks. That's well known. Pittsburgh is WAY bigger of a merchandizing team than Seattle, plus they had that Jerome Bettis story.
Against the Cardinals, if you look at the close ups, you'll see that Hines Ward did NOT get both feet down on that catch.
Anyway, which team has more "intangibles" today, as far as conspiratorialism? The Rooney Family is well known to have organized crime ties. Don't they still own part of that racetrack, in violation of league rules?
But the Packers have alot of Jesuit mojo. Lots of connections there. Plus, if any team is better for merchandizing than Pittsburgh, it's Green Bay. So I think we've got a chance, from this standpoint.
The Steelers have won too many Superbowls recently, and Big Ben has made an asshole out of himself. The Packers' story is very sellable. People love an underdog, and they love the blue collar message the Packers portray. Having all those injuries might be inspirational too.
Hard to say which way the conspiratorial intangibles might go. Thoughts?

Thanks to Ben Roethlisberger's sexual predator type behavior, the Packers are a much better feel good story, especially for female fans or potential female fans. Aaron Rodgers is well-behaved. They like him.

Also, some people think the league has it in for James Harrison because of all those fines. I really haven't paid enough attention to the issue to have a strong opinion on it, but if there's some truth to it, it also works in our favor.

The radio personalities at the Packers flagship station, AM 620 WTMJ, noted last week that there was only one perfunctory poster of Ben Roethlisberger on Radio Row, while the entire facility was bedecked with images of Aaron Rodgers. All the rest of images of Steelers are conspicuously not Roethlisberger. The NFL has made Rodgers the face of this Super Bowl and is marketing it based primarily on his story. So your observations are right on target.
