I understand there is a difference, but if I were any of those guys stuck on the sidelines, I'd feel pretty frustrated too. When they showed footage of Lang embracing his parents after the game, I kept wondering to myself what he was thinking, how much he must have wanted to be on the field in that game, to have a role in the victory. There has to be an element of bittersweet emotion for those players.

Oh yes, definitely. I think about that too, when a team wins a championship. At least with those young guys, they are probably thinking, "This is pretty great--maybe someday I can be a starter for a team that does this." With the older players who didn't play, they are probably thinking more along the lines of, "This isn't how I envisioned it happening, but I better enjoy it, because this may be as good as it gets." I do think that Woodson and Driver were able to enjoy the victory almost as much as they would've if they had played the whole game, though.

I think they're going to want to play in an entire Superbowl victory. They'll be hungry.

...Woody went out after making a TD saving knock down, can't go out much better than that if you have to leave early!

Woodson missed his mark and didn't hit the ball, but it was a valiant effort for sure. Great way to go out, if there ever was one.

How would you feel - you helped get them that far, but couldn't finish the deal? Do they hold some kind of feeling deep down that they won it on the backs of their teammates?

Will they have any qualms about calling themselves champions, and proudly wearing that ring?

Driver got a pair of catches and Woody got at least a tackle, did he not? I know where you're coming from, but I think they feel like they contributed. A few people said that they'd only feel bad if we lost.

At least they got to play and contribute in the actual game. I think it'd be far worse to be on I.R., or even if you were Erik Walden (admittedly he's a mid-season pick-up, but he started the last few weeks and then missed the big one. Driver and Woodson can at least say they played in the big game.

He got ball. I have seen the game 3 times. The ball may have been catchable but it would have been an heck of a catch. Unfortunately Pitt scored on that drive any way.

Another guy besides Walden who has to feel some letdown is Quinn Johnson. He played in most games this season, including playoffs, and made significant contributions, only to be placed on the inactive list on the day of the Super Bowl.
