Lions interested in signing Nick Barnett

Nick Barnett could wind up staying in the NFC North.

Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports the Lions are trying to get the inside linebacker under contract.

Barnett indicated on Twitter that things are “moving” in his situation, and lauded the Lions and Chargers fans that are lobbying for him on Twitter.

San Diego already spent on Takeo Spikes and could re-sign Kevin Burnett, so Detroit looks like the more natural fit.

Never really hated the Lions. Them and the Saints. The Saints were the one team we were able to beat in the 70s and 80s. The Lions were the team we've beat up the past 20 years. I can't dislike either of them.

Barnett is a decent player. Hell of a lot better than anyone they currently have at MLB. I hope they get him.
