The more I read about online content and copyright infringement, the more confused I'm getting. I read an article that explained  a website that posted articles in full text was sued because the website was acting commercial in nature as it accepted donations and had numerous advertisements. Although this article was more clearly written  and easier to follow.

Never went anywhere, the big thing here is your a forum and that material is used to start a topic etc 99.9 % of the time. Your not taking that work and saying packerhome made it.... same was true for me and thus the complaint in my case had no case.

As long as you link or source the post .. no one can touch you here. For more email since my PM is disabled here.

Why is your PM disabled here? It shouldn't be. (don't even know how to yet because since moving to the new software, haven't had to look, lol)

But hey, if it doesn't work, just shoot me a PM and I'll fix it for ya!! (hahhaa)

Providing the full text is sourced properly and a link back to its source, to my understanding, that was okay. And also since I've never accepted a donation or had an advertisement nor profited from this sites existence in any fashion, the content can not be accused of being commercialized. (whoa thats a word? i thought i just made it up).

Legally, I've felt with properly sourcing an linking the full text was allowed. I've had litigation threatened a few times and honestly I just don't have the time to mess with it. I'm just kind of bored waiting for a full site backup to complete and archive and started poking around. Hoping to find something that was clear cut black an white.

no idea .. just know it doesn't work 🤷 Anyway that whole copyright subject is overbearing. It would cost someone a fortune to litigate it.

And yes that's why I don't do donations or anything 🤐 . There is case law but nothing per say in a forum/message board setting.

I really understand your position on the matter... live it.

You should try sending a PM again because with the new platform, all the suspensions, bans, restrictions, etc ... have been removed.

I dont know much about copyright other than how it affects me as a songwriter. And this much I know. When you create an original song/artwork, you are by default protected by copyright laws. Some have taken the poor man's copyright approach and mail themselves a copy of their work and leave it unopened. I have heard positive and negative things about this approach. Really the only way to guarantee your creation being protected, is to file thru the US copyright offfice.
