Starks had another good game, and he is better than Grant. Or, "Starks > Grant IMO". I'm ok with having the two headed attack for the rest of the season because once Grant's contract is up, he'll be gone, and it's never a bad idea to get what we can out of him and save some of Starks' runs for later.

Starks is getting more carries late in games, which says a lot

I expected Starks to earn the job of getting the most carries per game and to have more yards than Grant. I thought it would take 5-6 weeks or more to get to that point. 2 weeks does not a season make but he is well on his way.

Grant's best quarterly per carry average comes in the second. His next best is in the 4th.

Ryan Grant does run into his linemen often. I have the video's to prove it at home. When I say 'often', that is meant to be at times when there was a one cut option he could have avoided it. He at times runs with his head down. If he's worried about his eyes, the NFL allows a clear visor to be worn.

Before you get jumpy, I do like Ryan Grant. I'd just like to see him with his head up more often and making cuts to use his blockers, rather than trying to prison sex them.

I agree the best plan of action here is to run Starks into the ground early in the season even though Grant has been productive on his carries as well. Who really needs their best RB to have fresh legs for the playoffs anyways?

I wasn't saying he didn't do that. Just that he isn't bouncing off, landing in the backfield and losing yards.

If he goes into the line strong with his feet under him and heavy lean, it is hard to make that cut if the hole isn't where it is supposed to be. If he goes into the line under control with his feet wide and on balance to make a cut, he won't get any yards after impact.

If the hole is right were it is supposed to be, Grant blasts through for a big gain.

3-4 minimum or a couple big runs and some negatives.

I like having both options myself.

Starks and Grant gives us that.

Call it what it is. Thinly veiled gloating over Packer not playing well.

Sounds like a Viking fan's tactic.

THAT IS TOTAL BULLSHIT!!!!

There are 53 men on this roster, in a 16 game regular season + playoffs a team is going to need everyone of them at one time or another.

2 really good running backs are better than one really good running back, if some of you haven't figured that out yet, then you never will. 🐴 🐴 🐴

It is nextguyitis.. the fact that we can call upon 2 backs bodes well for us. Last year it was Jackson that had everyone clamoring..

Grant punished people yesterday.. as did Starks.. mix them in and let them smack people in the face.

Off topic.. did anyone catch Quinn Johnson's rumble in the flat off a flare pass.. where the hell was that in GB..lol.
