We were pretty stacked in 94 and 95 too, but some jackass couldn't win in Texas Stadium.

Also, as was recently mentioned, A.R. doesn't get enough credit for how well he has, and continues to handle this situation. This was clearely a backhanded compliment and he had every reason to get in a cheap zinger, but yet again took the high road.

Greg Jennings said he didn't take Brett's comments as a backhanded compliment, then later said that's how Brett is and then said Aaron would do the same thing. Then also said every team thinks they should have won the Super Bowl sooner, part of the competitive nature.

I've taken pretty antagonistic positions against Brett the past few years, for a variety of reasons (some good, some totally emotional). With that qualifier in mind, I really don't have a problem with Favre's comments here. First off, I personally feel his opinions need to be taken with a grain of salt. We're not expecting the 20-year Iron Man dadgummit country boy to opine that Rodgers is the be-all-end-all to the QB position? About the nicest compliment any competitor in Brett's position could make is "He's a talented player." To go the full boat and speak to the greatness that is Aaron Rodgers would violate a fundamental characteristic of the professional athlete: admitting others are as good (or possibly even better) than you. I'm not saying that Favre is correct in his assessment; rather, that his comments should be run through a filter. Brett still harbors bitterness against the current Green Bay brain trust. But saying that he expected a SB win even sooner seems to me less a dig on Rodgers and more a compliment to some of his old teammates. He's certainly not selfless in his comments, but I think he thinks he's telling the truth.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Today I saw a segment on tv with Chris Mortensen who pointed out that Favre made these comments on an Atlanta radio station, the same week we play the Falcons. Coincidence?
As for Favre missing the opportunity to have gotten another ring, we can look back to his last two NFC Championship Games to decide who's to blame for that.

Favre being Favre.

A dig at Rodgers? Sure it was. Was it truly mean spirited? I don't think so.

Bring on the Falcons.

I just saw [Favre's comments] for the first time today, when you first hear it, you’re kind of like, ‘What?’ But knowing Brett, knowing the competitive guy he is, he’s never really going to give it all up to Aaron. I don’t think he should because I don’t think Aaron would give it up to him, trust me. But we played with Brett, we had success with Brett. We didn’t go all the way with Brett, but we did with Aaron. I think that kind of speaks for itself.

I heard this last night on NFL Network and thought it was interesting. Does Greg take a jab at Brett towards the end there? lol

Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
dfosterf (29-Jul) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂
