Hey no worries man, none at all. I didn't know you were bent or anything. You'll find nearly all here enjoy different opinions, but we're all pretty smart (save DakotaT and nerdmann) and can add a lot of different dynamics to any discussion.

Even though I think your trade next years round one pick is insane, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate you throwing it down as a suggestion. Hell, how would you like my suggestion of paying my car payment? ;-)

Zero2Cool, you are more than welcome to think my mentioning a possibility of trading 2013 R1 for a 2012 R1 is insane. And I would be happy to make your car payment. Are you leasing that Yugo?

[grin1]

Its all good.

What are you getting so defensive about? You're new so I'll give you a break, but noone is smack talking you, its just friendly jabs. You know, male bonding.

edit: just saw the other thread in random babble. I'd recommend moving all responses to this post to that thread :)

Dude, whatever! I didn't know we had to preface every post here with: "I know I'm not Ted Thompson, but..."

I'd rather we kept this civil. I appreciate your points, I really do, and I feel like you really know what you are talking about. I could just do without the smack.

To be completely serious for a bit, this thread itself illustrates how different it is from most internet boards of my experience.

Most boards treat newbies one of two ways:

Way #1: Call this the "shut the eff up, newbie" approach. Don't speak unless you're spoken to. Don't speak until you know how everyone hear rolls and stay shut up until you speak like the rest of us. Learn how to conform, or we don't want you.

Way #2: Call this "say what you want but you're a newbie, and I and my guys, we like us and your job is to kiss our butts" approach. If you haven't contributed X times (X →∞), we really aren't going to pay attention. We're the cool clique. If you aren't our kind of cool, you're not worth our time.

This place does neither. Oh, sure, people here will nudge you to listen for awhile (see NSD, above), to not judge us too quick. But only while they're paying serious attention to you. People read *and* contribute to the "new members" threads. Yes, we know topic X has been treated before -- topic X gets treated on pretty much every board on the Packers, after all -- but we like talking about topic X again. Person Y might hate topic X, but in general the board has lots of people who aren't at all tired of topic X. And if topic X becomes too dominant, Kevin is real good about knowing when to split it off into a sub-forum (see,e.g Brett Favre).

And while we are all Packers fans (well, except for vikesrule, Formo, and polargrizz), we're also people who have and like to share their other interests. We don't just hang out with each other for 3 hours each fall weekend; we like to hang out together and talk about other things.

If someone hangs out here much, you realize that PH is an amazingly diverse place -- and not just because we have a couple VIkings fans and a Bear fan here. But we're not only diverse, but we actually enjoy each other's differences. Rarely do people take themselves too seriously; but almost always people take each other more than seriously enough.

It may be online, but PackersHome isn't a "virtual" community.

It's real.

He said he figures there is only one and he wouldn't need any help carrying it. The two vikings fans looked at each other in disbelief. One final asked, "What's the Lombardi trophy?"

naw there has to be a better one than that.

As long as we are cracking jokes and have mentioned Favre..

So, God brought Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Brett Favre to heaven and asked why they believe he should let them stay in heaven.

First he asks Peyton, "Why do you think you should be here?" Peyton replies, " I have done well and think I am deserving."

Then he asks Tom the same question, to which he replies "I'm the golden boy, I think I would fit in great in heaven".

Then God asks Favre, " What do you believe?" Favre replies, " I believe you're in my chair".

"The oranges are dry; the apples are mealy; and the papayas... I don't know what's going on with the papayas!"

Hi didn't know this thread existed until now. Basically what I got from this thread is that we're all assholes (seems accurate) and you're going to have to get used it because we aren't changing. But most importantly, judging by zero's posts hes finally got the multiquote button working properly! hell ya, now i need to go searching for a reason to use it.

edit: false alarm. multiquote still broken :<

beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request

Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : We're gonna just full go on to the new host.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
