The fact that they're ugly as sin bothers me more...

Well, "ugly as sin" (on which I agree) is appropriate for the Olympics.

A good idea that has outlived its usefulness.

Well I do care. But this is just an indicator of what is wrong here in the US. it would be nice to say that our unis are made here but when they get get them shipped half way around the world for less money why not? The clothing industry like so many other union based jobs have priced themselves right out of global market place. They want to make $30 a hour fine. God bless them. But don't whine when no one wants to buy your goods.

I don't know how any American can not be upset by our Olympic uniforms, that represent the USA, being made in anywhere but here. No, its not a broken arm, but its like a papercut ... you can survive with no change in your life, but sure as hell is annoying. Actually, I do know how, they don't know from firsthand the struggles of starting a business or finding work in the US. They have a job so all is fine.

I despise all and any outsourcing of potential American jobs. Sadly there's little to no way around buying something as such.

Outsourcing is good. It means cheaper stuff. Cheaper stuff means more stuff. More stuff is good.

There is no God-given right to sell a product.

Bah.

I love my country, but I understand why others don't.

the reason i don't give a shit is because it's such a miniscule issue compared to what our country is dealing with right now.
i think it's ridiculous that an American company didn't make the uniforms but am i 'up in arms' about it? hell no!
i've got a dear friend, 35, who is now battling cancer for the 3rd freakin time, another friend who has a marriage falling apart, so i'm sorry if i don't drop everything & run to my legislature bitchin about some stupid uniforms.
call it apathy if you want but i just think there are far more important things to be discussed by our media & apparently our congress too.

It's like everything else in this country.....screwed up.
Yes, it's a small thing, but it's all those small things that have added up to put America in the place it's in now. Owing so much money to China, that if they want to collect on what we owe them, they can take us over without firing a shot.
Oh well.....it's the way things are now. And no one is willing to do anything REAL to change it. I don't see America recovering, ever.
(No, this "rant" isn't just because of the uniforms. It's because of the direction this country is taking)
