The problem with getting all these picks, even if he trades up, is there is no place on the roster for them. Any player taken is going to be a project, young potential, and that young potential is only going to replace young potential that was taken in the late rounds a short while ago. these picks are attempts at improving the depth by replacing the bottom of the depth chart and that is not what we need. We need to improve the team by getting players that can be inserted at the top or middle and improve the depth from the top, not the bottom.

This is what will keep the Packers a competitive team, but quite possibly will prevent us from becoming a great team.

Except the Packers have a depth problem. They aren't that deep and I would go as far to say they aren't as good as people think. I'm very, very worried about the team this season. I think they're vulnerable. I like the approach Ted Thompson took by acquiring extra picks. They have to get deeper.

But all these players that make for the depth problem you're talking about, are players we found in those later rounds. 6th and 7th rounders are a huge gamble and, usually, huge projects. The chances of drafting someone there who will give you that depth that we're looking for is a longshot.

That said, I'm not as bummed as everyone here seems to be. This draft especially, there's not that huge a drop-off between the end of round 3 and round 4. There's some good talent left and we already made two amazing picks in the first two rounds. If there was ever a draft to trade back, it's this one, a draft that was very shallow at the top and very heavy at the bottom.

A shame though that, like PWFT said, there's no real room on the roster for 5 6th and 7th rounders, plus UDFAs.

The Packers are in the pole position to deal with teams at the top of each round today that need more picks and allows Ted to cherry pick players they want.

It's been pointed out that not many good players come out of these last rounds. Well, how many years has there been A) a deep draft, and 😎 Ted is sitting there with 10 picks?

Are the odds not way better today than sitting at the bottom of these last 4 rounds that Ted will swoop in and grab a few players that will make the team better?

Sit back and enjoy this. It's going to be fun.

dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request

beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
